The Youth’s Assembly for Afghanistan Rehabilitation (YAAR) is a national, non-governmental, and non-profit organization founded in 1994, register no. 157, to deliver humanitarian assistance and support Afghanistan’s long-term recovery. Over the last three decades, YAAR has grown into a capable and community-focused organization with experience working in more than 17 provinces  and implemented multisectoral projects in partnership with UN agencies, INGOs, embassies, and local institutions.

The Logistics Assistant supports the Logistics Officer in procurement, warehouse management, fleet coordination, asset tracking, and general logistical operations. The position ensures timely delivery of goods and services in compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.

• Assist in preparing purchase requests and RFQs.
• Collect quotations from suppliers.
• Support preparation of comparative bid analysis (CBA).
• Maintain procurement files and documentation.
• Follow up with suppliers on deliveries.
• Assist in receiving, inspecting, and recording goods.
• Maintain stock/bin cards and inventory records.
• Support physical inventory counts.
• Ensure proper storage and organization of items.
• Coordinate vehicle movements as assigned.
• Monitor vehicle logbooks and fuel consumption.
• Assist in scheduling vehicle maintenance and repairs. 
• Support asset tagging and registration.
• Update asset inventory lists.
• Assist in periodic asset verification.
• Maintain organized filing systems (hard and soft copies).
• Prepare simple logistics reports when required.
• Support audits and compliance reviews.

1. At least 2–3 years of proven experience in the field (logistics support, stock management, procurement assistance, or supply chain in NGO/INGO or health projects preferred).
2. High school certificate (12th grade) or BBA.
3. Strong communication skills; fluent in Pashto and/or Dari (English is an advantage); proficient computing skills – word processing, spreadsheet design (Excel for tracking/inventory), and basic presentations.
