The Youth’s Assembly for Afghanistan Rehabilitation (YAAR) is a national, non-governmental, and non-profit organization founded in 1994, register no. 157, to deliver humanitarian assistance and support Afghanistan’s long-term recovery. Over the last three decades, YAAR has grown into a capable and community-focused organization with experience working in more than 17 provinces  and implemented multisectoral projects in partnership with UN agencies, INGOs, embassies, and local institutions.

The Transport Assistant supports the logistics and operations team in managing transportation activities, ensuring timely movement of staff, supplies, and assets. The position assists in vehicle scheduling, documentation, and monitoring to maintain safe and efficient transport operations.

• Assist in scheduling vehicles for field visits, supply deliveries, and staff transport.
• Monitor vehicle use to ensure efficiency and compliance with organizational policies.
• Coordinate with drivers regarding routes, fuel, and maintenance.
• Keep basic records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and fuel consumption.
• Report any vehicle issues or damages to Logistics Officer.
• Support preventive maintenance scheduling.
• Maintain transport logs and records for trips, fuel consumption, and vehicle usage.
• Support preparation of monthly transportation reports.
• Assist in filing and organizing transport-related documents.
• Ensure compliance with traffic laws and organizational safety standards.
• Support drivers in maintaining vehicle cleanliness and safety.
• Assist in incident reporting and follow-up.
• Coordinate with program and field teams regarding transport needs.
• Support procurement or rental processes for vehicles when required.

1. At least 2–3 years of proven experience in the field (transport coordination, fleet management support, or logistics assistance in NGO/INGO or health projects preferred).
2. High school certificate (12th grade) or equivalent; Diploma in Logistics, Transport Management, or related field is preferred.
3. Strong communication skills: fluent in Pashto and/or Dari (English is an advantage); proficient computing skills – word processing, spreadsheet design (Excel for logs/tracking), and basic presentations.
4. Valid driving license (Category B or higher preferred); knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety protocols.
