Objective

The GIS / Surveying Specialist will be responsible for the collection, management, analysis, and visualization of spatial data to support all exploration and mining activities. The specialist will prepare, maintain, and update all required maps and geospatial products for mining workflows, and perform field surveying and data acquisition under the supervision of the Exploration Specialist and Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Acquire geospatial data from multiple sources, including topographic maps, GPS surveys, satellite imagery, and field reconnaissance.
• Manage, process, and maintain spatial datasets within GIS platforms to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
• Develop high-precision geological, exploration, and mining maps to support exploration planning, resource modeling, and operational decision-making.
• Perform spatial analysis and generate 3D models of mineral deposits and geological structures.
• Collaborate with exploration and engineering teams to deliver geospatial outputs in the form of reports, presentations, and technical maps.
• Ensure all geospatial data complies with both internal quality standards and international best practices.
• Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of geospatial information systems for project.
• Provide GIS capacity-building and knowledge transfer to team members as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Geodesy, Geomatics, Geology, GIS, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in GIS applications for exploration or mining projects.
• Proficient in operating DGPS and multi-frequency GPS systems for accurate field data collection.
• Extensive experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and geological modeling software (e.g., Surpac, Datamine, Leapfrog).
• Working knowledge of engineering software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D is an advantage.

• Strong analytical and data management skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and coordination with multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, engineers, and field staff.
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot GIS-related challenges, and provide practical solutions.
• Expertise in producing professional maps, spatial reports, and visual outputs.
• Solid understanding of exploration and mining workflows to ensure geospatial data is aligned with project objectives.
