Hask Engineering Services is a privately owned engineering and construction company, officially registered with the Ministry of Commerce, Central Business Registry & Intellectual Property of Afghanistan in 2007, under License No. D-27174.
The company operates through its regional offices located in Kabul, Jalalabad, Kandahar, and Mazar-e-Sharif, with the capacity to establish additional offices in other provinces as required by project needs.
Hask Engineering Services & Builders was established in 2007 and initially commenced its operations as a Construction Materials Testing Laboratory. Over time, the company expanded its scope of services to include Project Survey and Design, Construction Works, Engineering Studies, and Professional Training Programs, responding to the growing needs of the engineering and construction sector in Afghanistan.
In addition to its technical services, Hask takes pride in publishing “The Civil Engineer”, the first technical and engineering magazine in Pashto and Dari in Afghanistan, contributing to knowledge sharing and professional development within the engineering community.

Job Description
The Geotechnical Specialist is responsible for providing expertise in soil, rock, and foundation engineering to support infrastructure and construction projects. The role involves conducting site investigations, analyzing geotechnical data, and recommending safe and cost‑effective solutions for foundations, earthworks, and ground improvement. Close collaboration with design and construction teams ensures that geotechnical risks are properly managed throughout the project lifecycle.
Job Requirements
ualifications & Skills:
- MSc or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering for infrastructure or building projects.
- Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering.
- Experience with geotechnical site investigations, laboratory testing, and field instrumentation.
- Proficiency in geotechnical analysis and design software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Slope/W, or similar).
- Familiarity with international and local geotechnical codes and standards.
- Ability to prepare geotechnical reports, risk assessments, and design recommendations.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills for coordination with engineers, contractors, and clients.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct geotechnical site investigations, including drilling, sampling, and in‑situ testing.
- Analyze soil and rock properties to assess foundation conditions and ground stability.
- Provide design recommendations for foundations, retaining structures, slopes, and ground improvement.
- Review and validate geotechnical data, calculations, and contractor submissions.
- Prepare geotechnical reports, risk assessments, and documentation for project approvals.
- Coordinate with civil, structural, and construction teams to integrate geotechnical solutions.
- Monitor geotechnical performance during construction, including settlement, stability, and instrumentation data.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards in geotechnical works.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of geotechnical issues during project execution.
