About Kandahar Refugee Organization
Kandahar Refugee Organization (KRO) is a national-level, non-political, non-profit, non-governmental organization working for humanitarian and rehabilitation roots in Afghanistan. Further, KRO is an Afghan organization that is committed to the development of the local economy and building local capacity for sustainable development. Thus, we have an established specialized network in many provinces of the country in order to design, implement related activities in the field of food security, research, capacity building, disaster management, and placement.
Job Description
To plan, design, supervise, and monitor engineering sub-projects at the district level, ensuring construction activities are implemented according to approved designs, technical standards, budget, and timeline while maintaining quality control, proper site management, and regular reporting on project progress.
- Prepare sub-project design/ BoQ, technical feasibility, and implementation of sub-projects at the community level.
- Provide technical supervision and ensure that engineering works are carried out to the highest standard and in accordance with the approved project design, budget and timeframe.
- Planning and directing the weekly activities to site supervisors then follow up
- Inspect facilities and analyze operational data.
- Conduct daily briefing with site team leaders to follow-up and report on the work progress in order to anticipate any possible delays with regards to planned tasks
- Check the quality of materials used for construction and immediately report to the QC engineer and or to the project officer any supplies and materials that are not in accordance to agreed specification.
- Ensure the goods have stock and records (in/out/stock) on project sites.
- Check and record attendance of skilled and unskilled labour and prepare their timesheets accordingly.
- Tracking physical progress of engineering activities and report to project officer and QC Engineer in regular base.
- Developing effective communications and mechanisms for resolving site conflicts
- Being on project site all the time during the period of construction.
- Managing all of the activities related to the project construction.
- Reporting progress on daily basis to QC engineer.
- Ensuring that project is progressing smoothly and is effectively monitored.
2. Other
- Participate in training workshops meetings project events held in any provinces.
- Visit project sites and monitor all activities
- Respect and adore all policies of KRO code of conduct
- Maintain 100% transparency and accountability
- Any other task assigned by management
Job Requirements
At least Bs degree in civil engineering (Higher degrees are preferred);
Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction projects as an implementer;
Having work experience NGO/INGO will be preferred;
Must be familiar technical survey and MS office;
Have the familiarity at English will be preferred and must be excellent to local languages;
Have the ability to work for long hours and under pressure; and
Excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work.
