About BARAN
Bu Ali Rehabilitation and Aid Network (BARAN) is a nongovernmental, non-political and independent organization. BARAN has been established in 27.7.2006 registered with the Ministry of Economy (MoEc), Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), Ministry of Education (MoE) , Ministry of labour, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled (MoLSAMD), Ministry of Justice (MoJ) in order to deliver standard health care, social and educational services including conducting researches. Special attention is given for the community development by promoting capacity building programs.
Job Description
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in line with BARAN and donor requirements to the Health Finance Manager (Vertical Project Focal Point).
- Monitor and control project expenditures to ensure alignment with the approved budget.
- Maintain proper cash flow management, ensuring funds are available for project activities.
- Record and process all financial transactions accurately in QuickBooks and other accounting systems.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank and cash accounts.
- Ensure all vouchers, receipts, and payment documents are properly verified, recorded, and filed.
- Prepare donor-specific financial reports and submit them on time.
- Support audits (internal and external) by providing all required documents and clarifications.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with taxation laws; act as the focal point for tax authorities.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Oversee administrative operations of the project office, including procurement, logistics, and inventory management.
- Facilitate staff contracts, payments, and benefits in coordination with HR and Finance departments.
- Work closely with the Project focal point, Project Manager and Health Finance Manager (Vertical Project Focal Point) to ensure proper budget utilization.
- Participate in coordination meetings and contribute to financial planning and review sessions.
- Ensure field office support and visit project sites as required.
- Ensure confidentiality and integrity of financial and administrative data.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Finance & Reporting Director & management team
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in finance and administration, preferably with NGOs or donor-funded projects.
- Proficient in QuickBooks and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong understanding of financial procedures, taxation, and reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of Afghan government financial regulations and donor compliance.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Fluent in Dari, Pashto, and English (spoken and written).
