The Nutrition Officer will be responsible for carrying out the following nutrition activities, but not limited to:

  • Overall responsible for the implementation of nutrition sector activities in MdM HFs aligned with the Project plan and IMAM guidelines of MoPH at the provincial level.
  • Preparing a plan of the MdM project nutrition activities.
  • Track and review the progress of nutrition activities according to the project plan and predefined targets.
  • Coordinate nutrition activities at the provincial and regional level with all relevant nutrition stakeholders.
  • Providing technical support for the smooth implementation of nutrition interventions/activities at the health facilities level, including TFU.
  • Participation in different meetings at the provincial/regional level, which are related to nutrition activities.
  • Provision and participation in capacity building program for/with the project nutrition staff.
  • Nutrition staff orientation regards their duties and responsibilities.
  • Proper management of stock, supply chain, quantification, and monthly consumption reporting of the nutrition commodities at the provincial level. 
  • Proper supply of medical and non-medical items to the nutrition sites. Also, a suitable follow-up to the proper use of supplied items.
  • Submitting a timely nutrition supply request to the pharmacy team.
  • Rationalization of the target facilities for nutrition services.
  • Conducting regular supportive supervision and follow-up of findings strictly.
  • Joint monitoring and supervision with PPHD, country office team, and other stakeholders to follow findings and remove all gaps in the project's activities.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and reporting of the project nutrition activities, nutrition data regularly, and maintaining the national nutrition database recommended by the nutrition cluster.
  • Providing regular feedback on collected data and regular tracking of the progress.
  • Preparing ad hoc, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and end-of-project reports and sharing with the provincial office.
  • Contributing to the compilation of data/information for the Field Level Agreement (FLA) of WFP and UNICEF.
  • Any other task assigned by senior management staff or the line manager.
