Job Description

  • The Social Media Officer will be responsible for managing and strengthening the organization's digital presence across social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and other relevant channels.
  • The position will develop, publish, and promote engaging content highlighting organizational activities, project achievements, events, success stories, news updates, advocacy messages, and donor-supported interventions.
  • The Social Media Officer will work closely with program teams, communications staff, photographers, videographers, and management to create high-quality posts, graphics, videos, campaigns, and multimedia content that enhance organizational visibility and stakeholder engagement.
  • Key responsibilities include managing content calendars, drafting social media posts, monitoring audience engagement, responding to inquiries, tracking performance analytics, increasing followers and online reach, and ensuring consistent branding across all platforms.
  • The role will also support live coverage of events, awareness campaigns, fundraising initiatives, donor visibility requirements, media outreach, and public communication efforts while ensuring compliance with organizational communication policies, safeguarding standards, and ethical storytelling practices.
  • The Social Media Officer will regularly prepare social media performance reports and provide recommendations to strengthen digital engagement, public awareness, and the organization's reputation and influence.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Media, Journalism, Photography, Communications, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in media documentation, photography, videography, or digital storytelling.
  • Strong photography and video editing skills.
  • Proficiency in multimedia editing software preferred.
  • Ability to travel frequently to field locations.
  • English excellent; Dari and Pashto fluent
