Job Description

Electrical Installation Responsibilities

  1. Install maintain and repair temporary electrical power systems throughout the construction site.
  2. Perform electrical wiring for offices workshops warehouses camps and construction facilities.
  3. Install and maintain distribution boards lighting systems socket outlets switches and electrical accessories.
  4. Install route terminate and maintain power and control cables.
  5. Install and maintain temporary lighting systems for construction areas.
  6. Assist in installing earthing (grounding) systems and electrical protection devices.
  7. Ensure all electrical installations comply with approved drawings technical specifications and safety standards.
  8. Inspect troubleshoot repair and maintain electrical construction equipment and portable electrical tools.
  9. Repair electric motors concrete vibrators water pumps welding machines grinders drills cutting machines extension cables and other electrically powered construction equipment.
  10. Replace damaged cables plugs sockets switches contactors relays circuit breakers and other electrical components.
  11. Test repaired equipment before returning it to service.
  12. Perform routine preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and tools.
  13. Keep maintenance records for repaired equipment and report recurring faults.
  14. Ensure all electrical tools and equipment remain in safe working condition.
  15. Diagnose electrical faults in temporary power distribution systems and construction equipment.
  16. Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns to minimize work interruptions.
  17. Use electrical testing instruments such as multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, and continuity testers to identify faults.
  18. Assist Electrical Engineers in troubleshooting and resolving electrical problems.
  19. Recommend replacement of damaged or obsolete electrical equipment when necessary.

Safety and Environment (HSE)

  1. Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
  2. Follow Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) procedures before carrying out electrical work.
  3. Wear and properly use the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  4. Report unsafe electrical conditions defective equipment and potential hazards immediately.
  5. Ensure all electrical work is carried out safely and in accordance with electrical safety regulations.
  6. Maintain good housekeeping in electrical work areas and workshops.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of relevant Electrical Engineering experience in construction, infrastructure, industrial, or similar projects.
  • Knowledge of local HSE regulations and international safety standards.
  • knowledge of LOTO procedures in electrical field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
