MHPSS Assistant

Organization for Community Coordination and Development (OCCD) established and registered with Ministry of Economy in 2013, is a non-profit, non-governmental, non-political and independent organization. OCCD works in partnership with Government, development and implementing partners in Health, Education, Agriculture and Livestock, Research and Development

•    Assist in planning and implementing MHPSS activities for project beneficiaries.
•    Provide basic psychosocial support and facilitate individual and group activities as assigned.
•    Conduct awareness sessions on mental health, psychosocial well-being, stress management, and positive coping mechanisms.
•    Identify beneficiaries who need additional support and facilitate referrals to appropriate services.
•    Maintain confidentiality and respect the dignity, privacy, and rights of all beneficiaries.
•    Coordinate with communities, schools, health facilities, and other relevant stakeholders.
•    Maintain accurate records of MHPSS activities, referrals, and follow-up.
•    Support the project team in data collection, monitoring, and report preparation.
•    Ensure compliance with safeguarding, PSEA/PSH, child protection, accountability, and organizational policies.
•    Participate in field visits and perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Experience:
•    Bachelor's degree in Psychology Counselling Work, Public Health, Education, or any other related field.
•    At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in MHPSS, psychosocial support, counselling, community-based protection, health, education sector, preferably NGOs. 
•    Previous experience in working with children, women, vulnerable groups, or communities, is preferred. 
•    Basic knowledge of MHPSS principles, psychosocial support, psychological aid, and referral mechanism. 
•    Good coordination and communication skills with community stakeholders.
•    Good computer skills, particularly MS Word and Excel.
•    Willingness and ability to travel extensively within Kunar Province.
•    Language-  (Pashto: Fluent, Dari: Good working knowledge preferred, and English: Good working knowledge desirable)
