Afghanistan Social and Legal Organization (ASLO) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit, and non-partisan organization dedicated to serving the community of Afghanistan. Scope of work:   

ASLO has a good track record and extensive experience in implementation educational support programs funded by various donors in Badghis province. ASLO in cooperation with its donors will support education in emergencies and other educational related activities in Ghormach district of Badghis province. This position is responsible for mobilization activities in Education in Emergencies (EiE) and Community Based Education (CBE) in Ghormach district of Badghis province.

Under the overall supervision of the Education Supervisor, he/she shall coordinate and supervise the community mobilization process to enable the communities to discuss, prioritize and prepare for well constructions and community hygiene & sanitation education in target districts. He/she will act as a facilitator on district level to obtain good working relations between DED/PED, schools management shuras, hub-schools, host communities, IDPs and migrated communities and also between other actors involved in the local community development.

The Community Mobiliser reports to the Education Supervisor in respective Ghormach district office.

Responsibilities:

• To facilitate to documentation and planning of all plan activities.
• Mobilizes and sensitize the target communities to project intervention, procedures and to inspire them to play an active role in water and sanitation and health hygiene activities in school, including facilitating to mobilize local and non-local resources for their development in a sustainable manner.
• To mobilize and motivate the male target communities to accept and ensure the participation of all groups in the area, including women, children, people with disabilities and other disadvantaged groups.
• Inspire the sense of contribution, participation and self-reliance in the target communities
• Establishes and develop good mutual understanding, cooperation and trust between SCA project and the target communities.
• Establish and maintains good working relations with authorities at community level.
• Work with the families in order to support the women and children to follow and complete and maintain the Engineering projects in a sustainable manner.
• Working directly with community groups to continue to improve attitudes and understanding of WASH /Hygiene behavior.
• Actively promote and explain community participation and create sense of ownership among the communities.
• To collect and submit to QC & QA Engineer proper and updated records/data/reports of all activities in the projects and assist in analysing the data

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in education or the in related subject.
• 2 to 4 years’ experience in the subject area or a related discipline.
• Experience teaching adults might be advantageous.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Patience and resilience.
• A high degree of diplomacy.
• Great conflict resolution skills.
• Good planning skill.
• Excellent oral and written communication skill in Dari/Pashto.
• Ability to frequently travel to the target communities in the districts.
• Strong mobilization and communication skills.
