Afg-Chin Oil and Gas Limited is a company that collaborates with the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan. They are involved in oilfield exploration, development, production, and surface engineering construction in northern Afghanistan. The company operates under an Exploration and Production Sharing Contract (EPSC) signed in January 2023
Objective of the Position
To provide administrative and legal support to the Legal Department, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services while maintaining compliance with applicable laws and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Legal Research and Analysis:
- Conduct legal research on laws, regulations, and judicial precedents relevant to the organization's operations.
- Assist in preparing legal opinions and summaries based on findings.
2. Drafting and Documentation:
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and editing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Prepare case summaries, reports, and correspondence as needed.
3. Compliance and Record Management:
- Ensure all legal files, documents, and contracts are properly filed and updated.
- Maintain a database of legal precedents, statutes, and organizational policies.
4. Support in Litigation and Dispute Resolution:
- Assist in preparing court documents, pleadings, and affidavits.
- Liaise with external counsel and provide necessary documentation and support.
5. Administrative Support:
- Schedule meetings, hearings, and appointments for the legal team.
- Prepare presentations and reports for internal or external stakeholders.
6. Training and Knowledge Sharing:
- Support the organization in providing legal awareness training to staff.
- Stay updated on new legal developments and share insights with the team.
1. Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field.
2. Experience:
2-3 of experience in a legal assistant or paralegal role, preferably in a corporate or law firm setting.
3. Technical Skills:
- Proficient in legal research tools.
- Familiarity with drafting and reviewing legal documents.
4. Soft Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
5. Languages:
Fluency in Pashto, Dari and good at English.
