HADAAF is a National NGO, established in April 2006, registered with MoE under registration No. 514. HADAAF is working with Health, WASH, Nutrition, livelihood and Child protection but mainly involved, working in health/nutrition sector since 2007. HADAAF have experience in implementation of BPHS and other vertical health support projects of long and short duration. HADAAF implemented BPHS in Nuristan and Zabul provinces in partnership with IMC (2007-2011) and Cordaid (2013-2019) respectively. HADAAF also implemented long term health support projects (Support to CBHC, PPP, Nutrition, integrated WASH and Nutrition, malaria/TB control and capacity buildings of health staff) in Urozgan, Nuristan, and Kunar provinces. Currently HADAAF is implementing health projects (Mobile Health Teams, Mobile Health and Nutrition teams, Fixed PHC, CBNP, C-WIFS & MNP and Covid-19 response support) projects in Nangarhar, Balkh, Khost, Paktia, Ghazni and Helmand provinces.

HADAAF has adapted a strategic approach of partnership and collaboration throughout its program implementation. Thus far, HADAAF has implementing projects/programs in partnership with MoPH, IMC, UNICEF, WHO, FHI 360, Health Net TPO, UNDP, Save the Children International, Swedish Committee for Afghanistan, Johanniter International Assistance and Cordaid in Nuristan, Urozgan, Ghor, Farah, Kunar, Laghman Kabul and Khost provinces. This collaborative approach has enabled HADAAF to get access to hard-to-reach areas and implement quality service delivery. 

Overall Information:

The nutrition nurse will be part of the existent BPHS clinics and will work inside of the team. The main responsibility of this position is providing of nutrition services to crowded clinics in Khost and FHHs (only in Khost) to under 5 and under 2 years’ children and PLWs. It will help to assess nutritional status of all under 5-year children and pregnant and lactating women.

Duty and Responsibilities:

• Screen all under five years old children and pregnant and lactating women for acute malnutrition
• Lead individual and group nutrition counseling sessions tailored to the needs of clients and caregivers
• Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control measures.
• Ensure accurate recording of nutrition information in the clinic registers, and timely completion of summary reports.
• Record and carry out growth monitoring including height, weight, MUAC measurement of all children under two years old.
• Deliver counseling for mothers/caregivers of all children under two years old on proper IYCF practices, prevention infections and community mobilization.
• Categorize all the children in Normal, Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) and Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM).
• Distributing of RUTF and RUSF for SAM and MAM diagnosed children and Super-Cereal for PLWs with acute malnutrition.
• Record all the activities and keep them to prepare weekly and monthly reports.

Report daily activities, achievements, success-story/lesson learned and challenges to the team leader on daily basis

• Nursing diploma from recognize institute and should be female
• At least 3 years’ clinical experience in CMAM, primary health care services and work experience in health as emergency response project
• Fluent in Speaking and writing of national languages
• Experience working with health information systems
