Job Descriptions:

Job Summary: 

NCA is looking for an experienced, technically competent Psychosocial Facilitator with experience in psychosocial counselling and understanding of the principles of humanitarian works, human rights, and protection familiarity on guideline standards of mental health. She/he should have excellent interviewing and listening skills. She/he should possess good communication skills, be able to clearly express her/himself, present information logically and concisely and can confidentially keep information. The candidate should have positive attitude and is eager to learn. 

As part of the returnees response project, the psychosocial support (PSS) facilitators are responsible for planning and conducting awareness-raising sessions to help prevent and respond to mental health and psychosocial concerns identified in the targeted communities. The team ensures the effective delivery of psychosocial support services to project beneficiaries by providing both individual and group counselling sessions. Regular mental health sessions are also organized for PSS counsellors and targeted groups to enhance their understanding and coping strategies.

In addition to offering direct counselling support, the team carries out professional psychological assessments for all cases and provides ongoing support, closely monitoring and documenting the recovery process. Accurate records of each beneficiary case are maintained, with all documentation kept secure and strictly confidential, ensuring the privacy and dignity of every individual receiving support.

Key Roles and Responsibilities: 

 

  • Plan and conduct awareness raising sessions on prevention and in response to concerns identified.
  • Provide effective delivery of Psychosocial support services to project beneficiaries.  
  • Provide regular sessions on mental health to PSS counsellors and targeted groups under the project. 
  • Provide individual and group psychosocial counselling to the project beneficiaries in targeted communities.  
  • Ensure professional psychological assessment and support for all beneficiary cases, and closely monitor and document the psychological recovery cases.
  • Maintain accurate records of the beneficiary's cases and keep all case documents protected and confidential.
  • Set up a monitoring system to evaluate the effectiveness and the impact of the planned individual and group psychological support on the beneficiaries.
  • Provide trainings to other local actors and community members on psychological identification and referral of persons in need of psychosocial support and GBV survivors.
  • Engage community leaders, local actors, and service providers to encourage and support beneficiaries to benefit from PSS services.  
  • Ensure quality implementation of PSS activities. 
  • Keep confidentiality of clients, staff and emergency information.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly activity report. 
  • Provide other relevant activities as needed or as requested by the line manager. 

 

 

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor’s in psychosocial faculty
  • At least 2 years of experience from similar positions in another INGO.
  • Knowledge of MHPSS cluster rules.
  • Excellent understanding of PSS services provision requirements.  
  • Experience in community based projects
  • Consistent in following procedures
  • Polite and problem solving
