The Afghan Youth Education and Health Organization (AYEHO) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization registered with the Ministry of Economy. Established in 2018 and headquartered in Kabul, AYEHO operates through provincial offices and maintains functional operational networks across several provinces in Afghanistan.

AYEHO supports the most marginalized groups in the country, including street-working children, orphans, children with disabilities, children in conflict with the law, and vulnerable families. Job Descriptions:

 Key Duties and Responsibilities

A. TLS Establishment, Implementation & Coordination

  • Establish, coordinate and support the implementation of TLS activities across assigned districts; and support the establishment, maintenance, and smooth functioning of TLS sites
  • Ensure TLS operations follow approved workplans, MOE and UNICEF standards, and AYEHO guidelines.
  • Work closely with SMS, DEDs, teachers, ETEs and other stakeholders for quality consequences.

B. Community Mobilization & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Conduct needed community mobilization sessions to encourage enrollment and consistent attendance.
  • Engage parents and community leaders to promote learning, retention, and child protection.
  • Maintain strong coordination with DEDs, SMS, and local authorities.
  • Represent AYEHO in district-level education meetings, cluster forums, and community platforms.

C. Monitoring, Supervision & Quality Assurance

  • Conduct routine field visits to TLS sites to monitor:
    • The availability of materials related to TLSs
    • Attendance and student engagement
    • WASH facilities
    • Classroom environment and safety
  • Ensure all TLS centers adhere to safeguarding, gender-sensitive, and child protection standards.
  • Identify gaps, risks, and protection concerns and report immediately to the Regional Coordinator.
  • Monitor and verify the distribution of learning materials, teaching kits and other related supplies.

D. Reporting, Data Management & Documentation

  • Collect and verify accurate relevant data from TLS sites.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports for submission to the Regional Coordinator.
  • Maintain complete documentation for all district-level activities to support monitoring visits by AYEHO, UNICEF, MOE and other external actors.
  • Document field achievements, challenges, success stories, and key observations related to the project.
  • Knowledge of digital technology and familiarity with KOBO Toolbox is required.

E. Logistics, Compliance & Resource Management

  • Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of TLS supplies, WASH materials, hygiene kits, and winterization items.
  • Ensure responsible and accountable use of project resources at the district level.

F. Safeguarding, PSEA & Accountability Responsibilities

  • Promote and uphold AYEHO and UNICEF safeguarding, child protection, and gender-sensitive standards.
  • Ensure functional GRM (Grievance Redress Mechanism) and PSEA reporting pathways within communities.
  • Support the installation and use of complaint boxes; raise awareness on safe reporting channels.
  • Ensure students, teachers, and community members understand zero-tolerance policies for exploitation, abuse, and misconduct.

 

Job Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in education programs, community engagement, or humanitarian work.
  • Experience with UNICEF-funded or EiE (Education in Emergencies) projects is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of TLS standards, child protection, and safeguarding principles.
  • Ability to conduct regular field visits and work in remote or challenging environments.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
  • Fluency in Dari/Pashto and English.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel).

Working Conditions

  • Frequent travel to remote villages and TLS sites within the assigned districts.
  • Ability to work under pressure, in remote settings, and with diverse communities.
  • Mandatory adherence to AYEHO and UNICEF security, safeguarding, and operational policies.
