Job Descriptions:

Job Summary

The MIS and Reporting Assistant will support the management, consolidation, and reporting of project data for education and community programs under the Sustainable Goals Organization for Afghanistan (SGOA). The role focuses on ensuring accurate data entry, database maintenance, report preparation, and timely dissemination of program information to support monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes.

The Assistant will work closely with program staff, field teams, and the provincial M&E Officer to facilitate efficient data flow, maintain reporting standards, and contribute to evidence-based program decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Data Management & MIS Support

Assist in the collection, entry, and consolidation of program data from field sites.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases for tracking key indicators, attendance, outputs, and outcomes.
Support the development and use of digital tools and templates for data collection and reporting.
Ensure proper documentation, filing, and storage of program and M&E records.

Reporting & Documentation

Prepare regular program reports, summaries, and dashboards under the guidance of the M&E Officer.
Support the drafting of success stories, case studies, and lessons learned for internal and donor reporting.
Ensure reports are accurate, timely, and meet organizational and donor requirements.
Assist in preparing data and materials for evaluations, assessments, and audits.

Field Coordination & Verification

Support field teams in data collection and submission processes.
Conduct basic verification of data quality, completeness, and consistency.
Assist in field visits for data validation, monitoring, and reporting support.
Provide technical guidance to field staff on proper data submission and record-keeping.

Capacity Building Support

Support M&E and program staff in understanding and using reporting templates, digital tools, and data entry systems.
Contribute to promoting a culture of data accuracy and learning within the program team.

Stakeholder Coordination

Collaborate with program staff, local authorities, and partner organizations for data sharing and reporting purposes.
Ensure alignment of reporting formats with organizational policies and donor requirements.

Safeguarding & Compliance

Support adherence to data protection, confidentiality, and child safeguarding standards in all reporting and record management activities.
Ensure ethical handling of sensitive information and compliance with organizational policies.

Job Requirements:

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Monitoring & Evaluation, Education, Social Sciences, Information Management, or a related field.

Experience

Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in M&E, data management, or reporting support, preferably in education or community development programs.
Experience in supporting database management, reporting, or MIS systems is desirable.
Prior experience with NGOs, INGOs, or donor-funded projects is an advantage.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience with digital data collection tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK) and MIS systems.
Basic data analysis skills and ability to generate summaries, tables, and charts.
Familiarity with donor reporting standards and impact measurement frameworks.

Soft Skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with teams and follow instructions.
Good communication skills and basic report-writing ability.

Language Skills

Fluency in Dari and Pashto is required.
Working knowledge of English is preferred.

Other Requirements

Willingness and ability to travel to field locations for data collection and monitoring support.
