Job Description
Major Goal of the Position: Advise the senior management of the Health programs and projects on planning, implementation and monitoring the various health programs. Provide advice, support and training to the managers of health programs and clinical staff to ensure provision of an effective, quality program.
Key Activity Areas
- Become familiar with the mission, goals, and values of OpM AFG so as to offer relevant and customized inputs.
- Input and advice given into the project proposals, especially on technical and clinical aspects, so that there is clarity on the Outcomes and Methodology for the program (a clear Log Frame).
- Representation in UN and cluster meetings as needed
- Assist with calculation and planning equipment and medical supplies as needed
- Advice into the planning of health sites, systems and security aspects to ensure good flow, clear structure and safety of commodities.
- Support development of reporting tools
- Support with Monitoring and Evaluation, especially with a view to advising on changes to be made in order to ensure success of the project in reaching stated objectives.
- Advise in preparation of materials and documents according to the Outcomes and pro-actively plan and execute training in coordination with OpM Afg CD and Senior program management.
- Support all aspects of the Health projects in order to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the projects, in line with the proposals and agreements with all Stakeholders
- Be accessible and available to give advice to the Health-related Project Managers, other senior OpM AFG staff, and partner organisations.
This job description covers the main tasks that are anticipated. Other tasks may be assigned as necessary.
Job Requirements
Non-negotiable
- Medical Degree with at least one area of specialisation
- Minimum 5 years experience working in Clinical Health
- Training and experience working in multiple fields of medicine
- Experience in urban, and rural health provision
- Senior management level experience of at least 5 years
- Minimum 5 years experience working in different cultural settings with cultural sensitivity
- Strong interest in building responsible citizenship in Afghanistan
- Strong working knowledge of English (spoken and written).
