Job Descriptions:

 Under the direct supervision of the Provincial Team Leader, the incumbent of this position will be trained in different packages and will roll out the trainings to TLS, formal schools, home-based remedial classes’ teachers. The incumbent will report to the Project Coordinator and the Provincial Team Leader.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for all capacity development activities (teachers as well as local education authorities and staff).
  • Identify training needs of the local education authorities; design and propose the required trainings accordingly.
  • Rolling out of TLS classes teacher training, Academic Supervisors training, catch up support training, school based SEL training.
  • Spend about 70% of his/her time in the project sites/schools and working with the heads of schools and teachers. During the rest of the time, they will plan for school and teacher improvements and to do their office work including writing reports.
  • Visit the hub schools, school-based catchup classes’ observation; give feedback after each visit, school administration and teachers and make action plans for addressing issues identified during the visits. Keep proper written record of each visit.
  • Ensure that the teachers follow child-centered teaching and learning methods and provide guidance to them where required.
  • Act according to the policy and regulations of WADAN.
  • Promote an attitude of team spirit and a strong focus on quality.
  • Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Provincial Team Leader.      

  

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor degree in education, psychology, sociology or literature.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience of working in the education sector as a master trainer.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, problem-solving and inter-personal skills
  • Good in MS word, excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in both official languages Dari and Pashto, written and spoken as well as English language
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to support colleagues and provide/receive constructive feedback.
  • Be ready and ability to travel frequently to project sites within Afghanistan.
