Job Descriptions:

  • The position of WASH Engineer will support all implementation of WASH project activities as it relates to CBE class, hub school (governmental school) rehabilitation and latrine construction
  • ·He shall coordinate and supervise the community mobilization process, conduct technical feasibility assessments, surveys, supervision and other defined assignment as assigned by the top management or line manager.
  • He will provide technical support to relevant target groups and field staff in order to develop capacities related to their roles and responsibilities
  • The incumbent supports target groups in providing proper feedback for quality implementation of SIP-project. He will establish modalities to ensure sustainability of facilities and extended use by target communities.
  • Prepare monitoring reports/ mission reports of the visited project sites. 
  • Prepare bill of quantities, specification and cost estimate for CBE class repairing, Hub school rehabilitation/ semi-construction and latrine construction
  • Review and verify engineering estimations and payment certificates for construction projects being implemented by HEWAD organization in the field ; and review tender documents for both design & construction for WASH facilities
  • Work in collaboration with other implementing partners and donors to design and ensure maintenance/repair of WASH facilities.
  • Review MoU and construction agreements in accordance with the policy of the organization.
  • Reporting monthly, quarterly and annually of the project implementation progress.
  • Any other task given by the line manager.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master,s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 4 to 7 years of relevant working experience in project management.
  • Experience in developing short-term and long-term plans, and report.
  • Having good knowledge and expertise in computers including MS Office and engineering software.
  • Having good communication and links with the communities and government stakeholders.
  • Best oral and written communication skills in both English and local languages.
  • Able to travel across the targeted districts.
  • Be able to work under pressure.
