Job Descriptions:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a capable Fleet Management Officer to oversee and manage our fleet operations within the oilfield sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and utilization of company vehicles and equipment used in field operations.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Fleet Operations Management:
  • Receiving and logging Travel Requests and liaising with the other fleet officers to ensure availability of vehicles and drivers. Ensuring all signatures for travel have been provided.
  • Liaising with security to establish whether the route is safe
  • Confirming availability of the transport with the Client
  • Recording each transportation movement and reporting on the vehicle identification number, route/destination, client, date, and time.  Reporting on the availability of vehicles and site location.  Reporting this information to the Internal  Transportation Manager weekly
  • Investigating damage to Company vehicles immediately following a road traffic accident.  Reporting to the Internal Transportation Manager vehicles on the damage.
  • Coordinating with vehicle subcontractors for the repair and maintenance of vehicles
  • Coordinating with vehicle subcontractors to resolve any driver issues.
  • Working closely with security operations to track vehicle movements
  • Reporting any complaints to the Internal Transport Manager
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the fleet including scheduling, dispatching, and routing of vehicles and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor fuel usage, maintenance schedules, and repair needs to optimize fleet performance and minimize downtime.
  • Maintenance and Repair Oversight:
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule and oversee routine maintenance and repairs of vehicles and equipment.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed timely and according to safety and operational standards.
  • Inventory and Procurement:
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts, supplies, and equipment necessary for fleet operations.
  • Coordinate procurement of new vehicles, equipment, and parts as needed, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Analyze fleet performance data and generate reports on key metrics such as fuel usage, maintenance costs, and operational efficiency.
  • Use data insights to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure adherence to environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure vehicles and equipment meet safety standards.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with logistics, operations, and safety teams to optimize fleet utilization and improve overall operational effectiveness.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+7 years) in fleet management, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of fleet operations, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in fleet management software and MS Office suite.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in fleet management (e.g., Certified Automotive Fleet Manager, Certified Equipment Manager).
  • Experience with GPS tracking systems and telematics.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations related to fleet operations.
