Kandahar Refugee Organization (KRO) is a national level, non-political, non-profitable, non-governmental organization working for humanitarian and rehabilitation roots in Afghanistan. Further, KRO is an Afghan organization that is committed to the development of the local economy and building local capacity for sustainable development. Thus, we have an established specialized network in many provinces of the country in order to design, implement related activities in the field of food security, research, capacity building, disaster management, and placement.

Job Descriptions:

  • Develop and implement project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goal and donor requirements.

  • Track overall project progress, identifying challenges and implementing solutions to ensure timely completion.

  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to donors and other stakeholders.

  • Manage cash and food requests, ensuring accurate documentation and timely processing.

  • Prepare distribution reports to provide updates on food assistance and project activities.

  • Collaborate with district implementation teams to coordinate project activities and maintain effective communication.

  • Conduct surveys and design construction projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.

  • Monitor and evaluate project activities, making adjustments as necessary to meet objectives.

  • Maintain positive relationships with local communities, stakeholders, and partners to enhance project effectiveness.

  • Facilitate training sessions for staff and local partners on best practices and project implementation.

  • Coordinate with the civil engineering department to develop detailed engineering designs and specifications for construction projects.

  • Oversee site inspections and ensure that construction work meets quality standards and safety regulations.

  • Review and approve engineering drawings and plans, ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations.

  • Assist in the preparation of project budgets related to civil works and ensure cost-effective use of resources.

  • Collaborate with engineers to assess project feasibility and conduct risk assessments for construction activities.

  • Prepare and deliver presentations for donors and the KRO senior management team to communicate project progress, challenges, and outcomes.

  • Contribute to the proposal development team during the proposal development phase, providing technical input and ensuring alignment with project objectives and donor requirements.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or project management or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on construction or infrastructure projects and reporting.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana).

  • Project Management: Proven experience in managing project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building abilities, with experience collaborating with various stakeholders, including local communities, donors, and government entities.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to assess project feasibility and risks.

  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

  • Knowledge: Understanding of humanitarian principles, construction standards, and best practices in project implementation.

  • Languages: Fluency in English and any relevant local language(s).

  • Willingness to Travel: Ability to travel to project sites as needed, sometimes in challenging conditions
