World Vision International (WVI) began emergency relief operations in Afghanistan in 2001 by addressing the urgent needs of children and families affected by natural disasters and decades of conflict. Over a decade later, World Vision Afghanistan’s (WVA) programs have expanded to development sectors such as health, nutrition, WASH, child protection, and education, empowering women to engage in civil and social change through interfaith partnership.

WVA targets the most vulnerable in its interventions; including children, women, Internally Displace Persons (IDPs), and returnee refugees, as well as the most impoverished and marginalized families. These priorities have been chosen to contribute to our Goal: “Improved survival and well-being of Afghan girls and boys, building the foundations for a better future for Afghan children and their communities.” 

Our work is well established in Herat, Badghis, Ghor, and Faryab provinces in the western region of Afghanistan. We work closely with all levels of society including children, parents, teachers, village councils, religious leaders, ministries, provincial departments, and other national and international agencies.

The Crowd Controller will be responsible for constantly watching the crowd during the food distribution in the target communities to prevent and react quickly to incidents. The incumbent is expected to control the entry to the distribution point, monitor the behavior of the crowd,

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure people do not cross into areas they are not allowed to access,
• monitoring the crowd's behavior and responding to suspicious and violent behavior
• Separate male beneficiaries from female beneficiaries
• Prioritize elderlies, women, and children when making lines
• Maintain good and clear communication with the audiences
• Be patient when dealing/talking with people
• Fulfill any other task assigned by the supervisor

Knowledge and experience:

1. Experience of Control Crowd
2. look out for suspicious behavior
3. Liaise with security authorities
4. Handle conflicts
5. Manage theft prevention
6. Good communication skills

Personal skills:

• Honesty and integrity in performing the tasks
• Flexible, adaptable, and proactive
• Must be ready to work in high-pressure

Able to do other duties required by the supervisor
