Job Descriptions:

Job Purpose:

Responsible for the defined role and contribution in the overall implementation of the IMC Kabul Office.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Cooking & serving meal for staff in the office .
  • Working within International Medical Corps Afghanistan Administration guidelines regarding current health safety and hygiene legislation.
  • Keep cooking material clean and handle with care .
  • Purchase daily and weekly food material based on need .
  • Prepare, cook and serve food in accordance with defined standards and quality .
  • Perform all the requirements of a Cook, such as washing the dishes, cleaning the kitchen and all other requirements.
  • Purchase kitchen dishes, when required .
  • Serve food and tea for office guests.
  • Cook foods and meals with required quality and ensure inclusion of vegetables as per the season .
  • Assist office/GH cleaners  that office/GH environment is neat, clean, and looks professional.
  • Ability of Good cooking skills, especially in preparing Afghan local foods .
  • Assist Admin Team in moving/adding stocks/supplies/equipment, clearing up stock rooms, preparing supply requests .
  • Based on need  the amount of money needed from staff daily .
  • Manage food costs and inventory.
  • Arrange the tea break for a special office meeting/workshop(s) and clean up afterward .
  • Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.  Conducts work with the highest level of integrity

  • It is all staff’s shared responsibility and obligation to safeguard and protect populations with whom we work, including adults who may be particularly vulnerable and children. This includes safeguarding from the following conduct by our staff or partners: sexual exploitation and abuse; exploitation, neglect, or abuse of children and adults at risk; and any form of trafficking in persons.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from 12th class diploma is required .

Experience:

  • At least Two Years  experience in cooking with National / International Organization.

Competency:

  • Good communication Skills in, Dari, Pashto , and English
  • Excellent interpersonal Skill
  • Can easily work under pressure
  • Good communication skills
