Position Overview:

The Chief Inspector of Production is responsible for overseeing the quality and efficiency of all production operations related to crude oil extraction and processing. This position ensures that production activities comply with established standards, specifications, and regulations while identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement. The Chief Inspector works closely with the Production Manager and other departments to conduct inspections, implement quality control measures, and drive continuous improvements across production processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in production inspection within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on crude oil production, quality assurance, and technical standards compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of production facilities, equipment, and operations to ensure compliance with safety standards, quality specifications, and operational guidelines.
  • Monitor production activities, identifying deviations from planned operations and initiating corrective actions to maintain consistency and quality of output.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain production quality control systems to enhance operational efficiency and ensure the highest standards of crude oil production.
  • Review and analyze production data, identifying trends, variances, and potential issues to support decision-making and improve production outcomes.
  • Collaborate with production teams to investigate incidents, equipment malfunctions, and non-compliance cases, ensuring root cause analysis and effective resolution.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, documenting findings, recommendations, and actions taken to address any issues.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to production personnel on quality control processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure all production inspection activities are conducted in accordance with established industry regulations and company policies.
  • Lead quality audits and assessments, ensuring that production processes adhere to international standards and best practices for crude oil extraction and processing.
  • Work with the engineering and maintenance teams to identify areas for improvement and implement modifications to production processes and equipment as necessary.
  • Participate in the development and review of production strategies, ensuring alignment with quality standards and operational goals.
  • Oversee the implementation of operational changes and ensure all modifications are thoroughly tested and validated for performance and safety.
  • Support the Production Manager in developing training programs and materials to enhance the skills and knowledge of production staff in quality assurance and compliance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry developments, emerging trends, and new technologies relevant to crude oil production and quality control.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • A Master’s degree in Engineering or a related advanced technical discipline is highly desirable.

Minimum Experience

  • At least 8 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a strong background in production quality control, inspection, and compliance.
  • Proven experience in managing quality assurance and inspection activities in crude oil production or processing facilities.

Specialty

  • Expertise in quality control methodologies, inspection techniques, and industry standards specific to crude oil production.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices in oil and gas production operations.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools, quality management systems, and data analysis software to monitor and optimize production processes.

Language and Computer Skills

  • Proficient in English and local languages, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong computer skills, including experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and industry-specific software for quality control and inspection reporting.
