About Loy Kandahar Reconstruction Organization (LKRO):

LKRO is a national NGO established in 1992 and registered with Ministry of Economy under License No.183 and is an active member of ACBAR and SWABAC NGOs Coordinating Bodies. LKRO has currently presence in 18 provinces of Afghanistan and has completed more than 187 large, small and medium size projects in the last 30 years of its operation in Afghanistan. These are in the sectors of education, health, sustainable community dev, livelihood, youth empowerment, child protection, research studies, environment and capacity building of CDCs, DDA, youths & PED, DEDs, SMS Dfa employees. Most of these projects were funded by the UN agencies of
(UNDP, UNOPS, UNHCR, WFP, WHO, UNICEF), Government (MRRD, NEPA), International Orgs of (JICA, IOM, TDH, Oxfam, Action Aid, Counterpart International, Caritas-Cordaid, SC) as well as Embassies of (Canada, USA & Japan - GAGP Unit).

Job Descriptions:

  • Policy Implementation: Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures related to PSEA to ensure alignment with international standards and organizational guidelines.
  • Training and Capacity Building: Conduct training sessions and awareness workshops for staff, volunteers, and partners to enhance understanding of PSEA principles, reporting mechanisms, and preventive measures.
  • Incident Reporting and Management: Establish and maintain safe and confidential reporting channels for allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse. Oversee the investigation process, ensuring fair, timely, and survivor-centered approaches.
  • Community Engagement: Collaborate with community members to create awareness about PSEA policies, reporting mechanisms, and survivor support services. Develop culturally sensitive outreach strategies to strengthen trust and participation.
  • Coordination and Networking: Liaise with internal teams, local authorities, and external partners, including NGOs and UN agencies, to coordinate PSEA activities and share best practices. Represent the organization in PSEA-related clusters or working groups.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Continuously assess and monitor the effectiveness of PSEA strategies and interventions. Recommend improvements based on lessons learned and feedback from stakeholders.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for the integration of PSEA policies into the broader organizational framework, ensuring it is prioritized and embedded in all programs and operations.
  • Support and Protection for Survivors: Ensure survivors have access to appropriate and timely support services, including psychosocial assistance, medical care, and legal aid, in collaboration with relevant actors.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Social Work, International Development, Law, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience in protection work, preferably in child protection, gender-based violence prevention, or other related humanitarian roles.
  • Training: Certifications or specialized training in PSEA, safeguarding, or related fields are highly valued.
