Job Descriptions:

The Deputy Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, achieving financial targets, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves leading the branch team, managing operational activities, and ensuring the branch runs efficiently while fostering a positive work environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Management
  • Assist in supervising daily branch operations, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Monitor branch performance metrics, including customer satisfaction, sales targets, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure cash management and security protocols are strictly followed as per Operations policy and procedure.
  1. Customer Service
  • Address customer concerns, resolve issues, and enhance overall service quality.
  • Promote bank products and services to meet customer needs and achieve branch sales targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients.
  1. Staff Supervision and Development
  • Support, training, and development of branch staff.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and monitor staff performance.
  • Foster a team-oriented work culture, encouraging collaboration and motivation.
  1. Sales and Marketing
  • Assist the branch manager in implementing branch-level marketing and sales strategies to attract new customers.
  • Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Monitor and achieve assigned sales targets.
  1. Risk and Compliance
  • Ensure all branch activities adhere to legal, compliance, and risk management standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of banking regulations and procedures.
  1. Reporting and Coordination
  • Prepare and present performance reports to the Branch Manager and Branches General Manager.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operational processes.
  • Assist the Branch Manager in strategic planning and decision-making.
  1. Other Responsibilities
  • Provides a superior level of customer relations and promotes the sales and service culture through coaching, guidance and staff motivation.
  • Managing difficult situations with customers and providing them with a resolution, information or additional options. Ensure quick and proper response to all reasonable customer requests.
  • Supervise the cleanness and keeping fix asset of the branch.
  • Responsible to take hand-over the vault keys and while BM is on leave he/she should take handover the keys from Branch manager  and get his/her signature on Key Register.
  • Reconcile Physical Cash with system report before day end and Close the branch Treasury (vault) as per Cash Management Procedure/Bank Instruction and Report immediately any Shortage in Cash to line manager.
  • Has ability to solve incident issues.
  • Take necessary responsibility of the branch in the absence of branch manager
  • Any other task assigned by Line Manager or will be assigned other duties and responsibilities as may be required to meet the goals and objectives of the bank.

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, banking and finance and master’s degree is preferred.

Experience: 3 Years Related Banking Experience
