About WSTA:

Funded by UNHCR, Watan’s Social and Technical Services Association (WSTA) is implementing the Community-Based Protection Monitoring, Community Engagement, Rapid Household Needs Assessment, Complaint and Feedback Mechanisms, and Distribution of CRI/NFI projects in Herat, Badghis, Ghor, Farah and Nimroz provinces of Western Region, Afghanistan. WSTA has 32 years of progressive experience in protection (general protection, GBV, child protection, HLP, civil documentation, etc.), shelter, food security, nutrition, WASH, health and education in different parts of the country. With a dedicated and professional management team, WSTA is committed to provide humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable population in Afghanistan.

Job Descriptions:

  1. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Under the overall supervision of the Regional Coordinator, The Protection field monitor is a member of the IDP Protection Monitoring team of WSTA at the Provincial structure, responsible for planning, organizing, and facilitating project activities in the province and reporting to the Regional Coordinator in Herat.
  • S/he will act as a provincial focal point of WSTA in the respective province to plan, coordinate, and monitor the progress according to the project plan and objectives and he will directly coordinate and communicate with all the project partners, and government entities.
  • He/she is responsible to coordinate the field level matter with the community leaders, actors, and other key supporting bodies in the communities in regard to facilitating and cooperate in IDP, Refugee returnees, and host communities monitoring under the UNHCR-funded program in the respective province.
  • Attend provincial-level and sub-cluster meetings and report the MoM to the regional coordinator at the end of each meeting day
  • Regular contact with the project partners, and other 
  • Overseeing the implementation of the project in the respective province
  • Representing WSTA in provincial-level meetings and gatherings
  • Coordinate and communicate professionally with the project partners, stakeholders, and other coordination bodies and government institutions in the province
  • Establish professional coordination and communication line for the WSTA management team in the respective province
  • Establish a professional project filling system both in hard and soft copies
  • Collect data and report them to the relevant project member for further process
  • Archive all projects related to date and present them in a professional manner to the management when necessary
  • Keep management informed of any single change in daily project activities supposing by UNHCR for formal process and approval
  • Coordinate all project-related matters with the regional coordinator for approval
  • Any other duties and responsibilities will be assigning my regional coordinator
  • OUTPUTS
  • The following outputs are expected:

  • Qualitative and quantitative data of the project is collected and achieved in a professional manner
  • An up-to-date filling system is placed
  • Daily activities with qualitative and quantitative data are reported to the relevant project team for further process
  • The project donor/partner is satisfied with technical and official behaviors and with the reporting approaches and outputs of the employee.
  • Regular progress reports and work plans of the province are filed in both hard and soft forms.

Job Requirements:

Holding a High School Degree or Bachelor's Degree
2 Experience working with national or international NGOs Preferably in the Protection Sector
Fluent in Dari and Pashto languages- intermediate knowledge of English Language (High level is a plus point)
Familiarity or ability to operate the KOBOToolbox
