The Nurse’s role is to manage the patient’s care by promoting and restoring  patient’s health. She will work with a variety of patients and will provide direct nursing care along with physical and psychological support when required. She is responsible to monitor and record patient’s condition and document provide care services. A nurse is required to consult with medical doctors while implementing medicines to the patients. She is expected to prepare and submit timely intervention information/ situation activity reports to the medical doctor or center coordinator.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Medical and Project Coordinator, the incumbent of this position will perform the following duties and responsibilities:

• Identify patients’ care needs, focus on them and act as required.
• Monitor patients’ health issues and provide the best possible care or advice.
• Document patients’ history, symptoms, tests, and assessments regularly and keep them for the record.
• Provide necessary information to patients about medicine, its dosage and usage in accordance to the medical doctor guidance.
• Participate in meeting held before and during the treatment for the purpose of a comprehensive evaluation of the patients.
• Monitor the medical condition of patients regularly and coordinate with the medical doctor as required.
• Asses, plan, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plan by working with the medical doctor and project coordinator.
• Regulate and protect the medicine, and the quality and quantity of medicine shall be reported to the medical doctor on regular basis.
• Conduct physical examinations of the patients as admitted.
• Attend the center for night – shift and public holidays as scheduled be the project coordinator.
• Other official tasks assigned by the medical doctor, project coordinator or DDR Coordinator.

• Graduated from a registered institute of Nursing or Pharmacy with 1 year experience in the relevant field.
• Must be fully familiar with Drug Treatment Nursing
• Knowledge of the local community structure dynamics and Drug Treatment Centers.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in local languages.
• Ability to travel frequently to the program communities and visit the drug addicted patients.
