About Afghan Midwives Association:

The AMA is the technical body for midwifery education, professional development and policies that enable every midwife in Afghanistan so midwives can practice the highest level of care for the mothers and new born of the country. The AMA is a member of key national and international forums. For example AMA is an active member of the Human Resource Development Task Force, National Reproductive Health Task Force, The Maternal New born Health committee, Afghan Women Network and Secretariat for National Nursing and Midwifery Steering Committee. Similarly, at regional and international level AMA is an active member of the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM), White Ribbon Alliance (WRA) for the safe motherhood and women empowerment; also member of the Asia Midwifery Regional Resource Centre.

Job Descriptions:

A MLMCC Receptionist, is responsible for interacting with clients in a healthcare setting and managing administrative tasks for the MLMCC team. She will ensure registration and admission of patients visiting health facilities and prepare the patient for her consultation according to protocols.

 

Key Accountabilities

Receptionists are responsible for greeting visitors and delivering exceptional customer service assistance and as client-facing professionals, MLMCC receptionists play a key role in representing a practice within the community. Duties and responsibilities for this role typically include:

  • Answer and direct phone calls in a polite and friendly manner
  • Greeting patients professionally both in person and on the phone
  • Welcome visitors in a warm and friendly manner, and answer any questions visitors have.
  • Welcome patients, inform them about how the facility functions, and ensure the availability of a comfortable waiting area for them and their relatives.
  • Bring any patient with an obviously serious medical problem to the attention of the medical assistant/ Midwives
  • Identify patients and register their administrative details, create and update files for patients according to protocols, and ensure maintaining and filing system in good condition
  • Ensure, maintain and promote confidentiality regarding all information registered
  • Maintain reception area and all common areas in a clean and tidy manner at all times
  • Provide ID card to client and pregnant women.
  • Perform all duties within AMA/MLMCC regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all midwives, staff, and patient information.
  • Complete accurate documentation of patient visits.
  • Report statistics as required.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to plan, monitor, review, and evaluate patient effectiveness.
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly progress report of the activities to line manager.
  • Perform any other task given by line manager.

Job Requirements:

  1. High school diploma/bachelor degree preferred.
  2. Two years of relevant experience in an office environment
  3. 18 – 35 years old (Female)
  4. Working knowledge of healthcare insurance preferred
  5. Strong phone skills.
  6. Comfortable multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks without guidance
  7. Good communication skill both in writing and oral in Dari/Pashtu essential.
  8. Communication skill in English oral and written desirable.
  9. Two positive references from previous employers or educators.
  10. Ability to communicate clearly and work well with others in a team environment.
  11. Strong commitment to midwifery profession and Midwifery Association (AMA).
