Job Summary

A Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project process, working closely with donors, contractors, engineers, and designers to ensure all the aspects of the construction projects are managed well. The incumbent will supervise the overall implementation of all project-related activities, in collaboration with and on behalf of the Site Civil Engineers, to ensure effective implementation of projects in line with the approved design, and in compliance with the donor's requirements. The incumbent will be based in the (WDIO) Kabul Main office, to monitor, lead, manage, and review the document progress in the field. The incumbent will also be responsible for providing technical support and capacity building to all project Staff.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of a data collection and management system to generate data, analysis, and feedback on the quality of the project·
  • Manage, supervise, coordinate, and monitor project activities·
  • Manage the complete operation of the project including its budget, personnel, and plan.    
  • Responsible for managing and controlling logistics, admin, and finance activities of the project.
  • Having good coordination and communication with, beneficiary, local government, and other stakeholders.
  • Set up implementation planning, follow-up tools & and regular updates.
  • Create and manage a construction project budget.
  • Create a construction project management Plan.
  • Organize regular meetings with his teams.
  • Following up of the work plan and other detailed action plans.
  • Negotiate with general contractors and subcontractors to obtain profitable construction.
  • Develop a construction schedule, with project contracts deliverables, and milestones.
  • Manage resources such as construction materials, construction workers, and equipment.
  • Prepare a schedule for construction works.
  • Prepare invoice of completed works.
  • Create Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly progress reports.
  • Prepare program financial forecast.
  • Oversee the performance of the contractor, site manager, and other members of the construction team
  • Keep inventory of tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Time to time, Visiting from the Construction for monitoring and Supervision.

Job Requirements:

Job Requirements

  • MSc or BSc in Engineering (Civil Engineering)
  • At least 7 years of technical experience in the implementation of building projects.
  • Knowing reading, interpreting, and implementing the engineering and technical drawings and specifications.
  • Very well knowledge of construction quality management, safety, construction codes, etc.
  • Understanding and practical knowledge of related laws and other regulation
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English, Pashtu and Dari
