The Sustainable Goals Organization for Afghanistan (SGOA) is a non-profit NGO established in 2020 and registered with the Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Public Health. It operates in various sectors, including WASH, health, education, food security, and livelihood support, providing emergency response and relief to returnees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in remote and underserved areas. Partnering with organizations such as UNDP, UN Women, SCI , SFCG and NRC, SGOA aims to enhance livelihoods, promote socio-economic inclusion, and deliver humanitarian assistance. Job Summary:
The Access Officer ensures safe and sustained access to project sites by monitoring local dynamics and building strong community relationships. This role supports risk mitigation efforts and enables the delivery of humanitarian and development programs in sensitive locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track local security trends and provide timely updates to field teams.
- Conduct access assessments for new or existing project areas.
- Identify and address access constraints in collaboration with program staff.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with community leaders and local authorities.
- Represent SGOA in local coordination platforms, as required.
- Coordinate with logistics and program teams to plan safe travel and field missions.
- Provide access briefings and support emergency preparedness efforts.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Social Sciences, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in access, liaison, or field coordination roles.
- Strong knowledge of local political and security dynamics.
- Ability to assess risks and advise on mitigation strategies.
- Effective communicator and negotiator.
- Culturally sensitive with strong interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in local languages.
- Willingness to work in field-based settings.
