Organization for Sustainable Aid in Afghanistan (OSAA) is a non-governmental, non-profit, women-led organization with no dependence on any political group or party and is a development and humanitarian organization. OSAA was officially registered with the Afghan Ministry of Economy as a national NGO in 2015, aiming to foster the economic and social development of society, in particular women in Afghanistan. The organization’s core founders and board of directors consist of highly educated, experienced, and goal-oriented women and men who endeavor to use their knowledge and experience to empower women and young girls through vocational training, social capacity building, education, employment services, and the development of handicrafts programs in Afghanistan.

Job Descriptions:

The MEAL Assistant role is to enhance the effectiveness and impact of implementation of project. The MEAL Assistant will support the development and implementation of robust monitoring and evaluation systems, ensuring that projects is effectively tracked and assessed. She will collaborate with project teams to gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative data, helping to inform programmatic adjustments and strategic planning. She will also be responsible for ensuring that feedback from beneficiaries and stakeholders is integrated into project design and implementation, promoting accountability and transparency.
 

Key Responsibilities:
 

Output Monitoring:

  • Follow-up on reporting by responsible staff on Output Indicators as per the Monitoring and Evaluation Plan.
  • Prepare Output Monitoring Report against project Output Project Indicators and provide information on achievement against the Indicators.
  •  Make field visits to target areas of the project including Badghis Province to verify the achievements of Output Indicators.

Monitoring:

  • Organize field visits to monitor program activities/ interventions against quality benchmark; share monitoring reports in line with preset quality benchmark findings and prepare action plan jointly with the program team.
  • Ensure that the monitoring action tracker, & plan tracker have been maintained and updated on time 
  • Conduct follow-up monitoring visits to materialize action agreed in the action tracker and plan tracker and maintain 'Monitoring – Action, & Plan Tracker' at the field level.
  • Crosscheck and verify output monitoring data and share its findings with the concerned program team.

Accountability:

  • Ensure that all staff in Herat and Badghis fully understand and promote accountability in general and to women in particular through training and coaching.
  • Establish an effective functional system for feedback and reporting handling and response mechanisms at the Provincial level with support from the Provincial MEAL Officer.
  • Ensure the feedback and reporting have been timely recorded
  • Conduct preliminary verification and prepare the preliminary report in case of serious nature of feedback/reporting filed by beneficiaries/ communities.
  • Provide support in the field to the program team while conducting data collection

Evaluation:

Support program team in the field while conducting baseline, midterm, and end-line evaluation.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in any related field including Public Administration, Businesses Administration.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Monitoring, Evaluation and Accountability in I/NGOs.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality MEAL reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English and Dari/Pashto is required.
