Job Description:

AWRO is seeking a Full-time Nutrition and Health Officer to further strengthen the implementation of the Nutrition and Health Officer AWRO Regional Office Badakhshan District of Shahre Buzurg, Kishem Arghanj Khwah Teshkan District supporting provincial offices in the capacity building, articulating reporting structures and supporting the development of provincial level plans within the AWRO framework, as well as a robust monitoring system to ensure compliance. 

TOR:

The Health and Nutrition Officer will be responsible for the following tasks, but not limited to:

• Assist in the coordination and management of Mobile Health and Nutrition Teams (MHNTs).
• Support screening and referral of malnutrition cases in coordination with CHWs and health teams.
• Manage and provide guidance to Community Health Workers (CHWs) on nutrition assessments, healthcare service delivery, and malnutrition management.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager in planning and implementing all nutrition and health-related activities.
• Collect, compile, and update field-level data and reports related to health and nutrition interventions.
• Support and provide technical advice to field teams, ensuring adherence to project objectives and standards.
• Draft timely and accurate health and nutrition reports for submission to the Project Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
• Collect and analyze health and nutrition data to identify trends, gaps, and needs for program adjustment.
• Lead and manage community sensitization and awareness campaigns focusing on health and nutrition practices.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Medical, Nursing and Nutrition /, or related field or additional two years of experience two years of experience
• At least 2 years of Nutrition and Health Officer experience in NGO or humanitarian projects
• Good data collection and analysis skills
• Familiarity with Badakhshan province is preferred
• Good knowledge of Excel and mobile data collection tools
