Job Descriptions:

General Management responsibilities:

  • Chairs the Hospital Management Team and will be responsible for other key management staff like Medical Director, Nursing director and Administrator.
  • Work closely with the provincial public health directorate in supervising and monitoring program activities;
  • Coordinate and chair the Hospital Community Board meetings and further strength the hospital services in the province through a joint all HFs coordination board, developing the ToR for this board and follow up.
  • Formulate monthly action plans for the hospitals and implement planned activities. 
  • Coordinate closely with Public Health Director and linking the hospital with other PHC health facilities for referral system
  • Manage and coordinate all activities of SHC implementation in Provincial hospital
  • Prepare regular monthly activity reports of the SHC implementation and submit them to the project director and Public Health Director.
  • Facilitate the visits of the MoPH, donors and other consultants visiting the hospital.

Technical responsibilities:

  • Ensure all quality standards for inpatient, outpatient and emergency care services are provided in line with standards of management protocols and standards-based management guidelines.
  • Ensure that patients' satisfaction is availed and proper treatment is provided to the clients.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance and quality if the services provision in reference to set indictors, health management information systems and other monitoring tools;
  • Supervise, mentor and support all hospital department and ensure that the consistency, accuracy and QQM/QQC is improved and reach 100%.
  •  
  • Plan and implement skill up gradation of the hospital technical and management staff.
  • Take a lead role in developing the capacity of program health staff through coaching and training (this may involve use of external training resources/consultants) with the aim of devolving management and technical responsibilities of the hospital staff
  • Ensure teamwork and promote strong effective working relationships among the implementing partners like PPHD, WHO, UNICEF and Communities.
  • Carry out human resource management such as staff line management, and regular performance appraisals;
  • Write timely progress reports and work plans for RI, MoPH and donors.
  • Coordinate with RI finance and hospital finance team in order to have budget control and management and submit monthly report

Job Requirements:

  1. Master’s degree in public health (or related filed specialty)
  2. A bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience medical degree or MSC in public health medical field, is an advantage.
  3. Five 5 years’ experience managing hospital health services delivery.
  4. Strong managerial, team building and communication skill
  5. Networking, reporting and budget management experience and skills
  6. Strong interpersonal, coaching, management, leadership and conflict resolution skills;
  7. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office programs (Word and Excel as a minimum);
  8. Received training in hospital management or equivalent
  9. Good command on spoken and written English
