Agency for Assistance and Development of Afghanistan (AADA) is an Afghan non-profit non-governmental organization working for the development of Afghanistan mainly through (1) provision of quality health services; (2) community development; (3) training and capacity building at professional and community levels; and (4) research in topics of public health and social sciences besides various projects in different parts of Afghanistan.
Promote the availability of counseling services and carry out, individual or group counselling (psychological first aid (PFA) and psychosocial support (PSS), basic psychoeducational sessions to returnees in order to alleviate their psychosocial difficulties;
Provide one-on-one counselling sessions to individuals experiencing psychological distress or trauma.
Conduct assessments to understand the psychological needs of beneficiaries;
Create a safe and supportive environment for group participants to share their experiences and feelings;
Refer clients to other specialists or other institutions for further assistance, when necessary, in line with the available local referral pathways, to ensure an effective and efficient case management process;
Keep files and statistics of daily activities and participate in team meetings to share experiences and discuss special cases with the supervisor while respecting confidentiality;
Document best practices, case studies and learnings for reporting and evaluation purposes;
Report on a weekly and monthly basis to the immediate supervisor.
A diploma in psychosocial counselling or Bachelor’s degree in Counselling or Psychology;
At least one year of experience in the provision of psychosocial counselling services;
Fluency in written and spoken local languages;
Knowledge of local environment;
