Job Descriptions:

B- Specific Responsibilities:     

  • Conduct initial psychological assessments and evaluate the psychosocial status of new patients.
  • Diagnose psychological disorders related to addiction (depression, anxiety, psychosis, personality disorders, etc.).
  • Develop individual and group psychological treatment plans for patients.
  • Provide individual counseling and group therapy sessions.
  • Teach coping skills, stress management, anger management, and relapse prevention.
  • Collaborate with internal medicine doctors, nurses, and social workers in the treatment process.
  • Maintain psychological case files for each patient and record regular notes.
  • Refer patients with severe psychiatric problems to specialized psychiatric centers.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients' families on post-discharge psychological support.
  • Participate in workshops and capacity-building sessions for hospital staff.
  • Develop monthly action plan and monthly report of Psychosocial unit in DATC
  • Providing assistance to psychosocial counsellor, and social workers
  • Perform night duty at DATC according to the schedule.
  • Conducting supervision from provision of psychosocial services to patient in hospital
  • Coordinate the activities with DATC team
  • Provision of immediate assistance in emergency mental health like suicide thinking, severe depression, stress management, and promoting awareness of patient to prevent the acceleration of psychosocial condition.

Job Requirements:

  • MD University degree from recognized university
  •  Clinical Psychology, Mental Health, or Psychiatry specialty degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in addiction treatment or counseling.
  • Skills in individual and group counseling.
  • Familiarity with addiction treatment protocols (WHO / UNODC).
  • Patience, professional ethics, and ability to work under challenging conditions.
