About Action Against Hunger:

Action Against Hunger/Action Contre La Faim (AAH/ACF) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that was created in France in1979. AAH/ACF has been active in Afghanistan in the medical, nutrition, food security, and water and sanitation fields since 1995.AAH/ACF improved access to health and nutrition services for the most vulnerable people, who live in remote areas without a localhealth system. In particular, the country team supported pregnant and breastfeeding women and children under five, who are atgreater risk of malnutrition. Nutrition programs rely on an integrated approach, addressing both primary and underlying causes, inorder to have a lasting impact on nutritional status. The country team worked at community level, in villages and at provincial level,strengthening the public health system. It also worked at national level to ensure reliable information about the nutritional situation reached the wider humanitarian community. Covid-19 prevention was integrated into all interventions and additional responseactivities were implemented, such as the disinfection of health facilities and public places, cash assistance, psychosocial support andthe distribution of hygiene kits to affected populations.

Job Descriptions:

Mission 1: Fleet Management

The Logistician Assistant - Storekeeper will be responsible for:

  • Support the Logistics officer and/or lead the process directly for collecting transportation needs of all program departments in order to compile a transportation forecast for each coming month.
  • Ensure that all rental vehicles are equipped with up-to-date registration license and registration plates, and also inform the supplier if the licenses are getting expired.
  • Organize bi-weekly general check-up of all rental vehicles and make sure the supplier is informed well if repairs are needed.
  • Follow up the maintenance of ACF vehicle regularly; ensure that engine oil, fuel filter and oil filters are changed as needed.
  • Make sure that all vehicles are equipped with tool kits, extra tires, left, wheel spanners, and pulling ropes/cables.
  • Ensure up-to-date first aid kits and its availability in each vehicle travelling to project site locations and make sure kits are returned back upon arrival.

Mission 2: Stock Management

The Logistician Assistant - Storekeeper will be responsible for:

  • Apply all procedures and instructions of stock management based on Logistics policy
  • Prepare stock cards and Bin card for every category of items being stored and ensure regular follow-up.
  • Physical inventory at the end of each month all items in stock
  • Physical inventory of all items are exist in office and GH rooms by room and update inventory list monthly
  • Update equipment list when receive from upper base or from the other base or field level
  • Labeling of all Equipment, furniture and IT tools when receive and update timely
  • Respect role of FEFO and FIFO in stock
  • Supply of stationery to staff and update in Stock card
  • Supply of Fuel to Generator and Vehicle and update in Stock card
  • Organize clean and tidy stock, differentiate items from different departments and make sure all items are stored in related stock.
  • Regularly check the temperature, humidity, ventilation and disinfection status of stock.
  • Take the lead of receiving items from suppliers, counting, ensuring the quality in coordination with the requesters and signing and/or confirming the DN “Delivery Notes”.
  • Perform close follow-up of SR “Stock Report” with logistics Manager, regularly check the actual amount of items with Stock-Cards and SR and report any problem to the Logistics manager immediately.
  • Keep close communication with all relevant program staff and support them on preparing SROs (Stock Release Orders) by providing updated information from the stock.
  • Make sure that items are released according to SROs to responsible persons on timely manner, also make sure to record everything returned back to the stock properly.
  • Pay regular attention to items with expiry date, inform the Logistics manager when items are getting close to expiration date or already expired.
  • Report any shortage, loss, damage and/or other problems/incident to the Logistics manager immediately after discovered.
  • Conduct regular inventory check and update the inventory list.
  • Organize and supervise loading, unloading and piling of all items being stored in the stock.

Mission 3: Reporting

The Logistician Assistant - Storekeeper will be responsible for:

  • Help Logistics manager/officer in preparation of monthly rental vehicle usage report.
  • Calculate the numbers and days of rental vehicles used during the month and report to Base Logistician.
  • Check the fuel consumption rate of ACF vehicle and report errors and/or problems.
  • Make sure that all documents related to fleet management & stock management are available, up-to-date and shared with Logistics manager when required.
  • Perform any other task as directed by the Logistics manager or his designee.
  • Monthly stock report from all items are exist in Stock and balance

Job Requirements:

Education (if relevant) and experiences expected:

  • Bachelor’s degree/Higher in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Stock Management and Procurement
  • Proficiency in English and local languages
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in similar responsibilities is required.
  • Previous experience working for NGOs an asset, particularly international related NGOs
  • Capacity for analysis, synthesis and reporting of large amounts of information
  • Previous experience in stock keeping and procurement 
  • Previous experience in stock/warehouse management is compulsory

Technical skills:

  • Excellent knowledge and experience of modern logistics frame work
  • Excellent in networking such as: (MS office, outlook, Power point and logistics software’s)
  • Excellent knowledge in reporting skills, updating logistic related tools
  • Ability to work well within a multi-cultural staff in multiple and remote locations

Transverse skills:

  • High flexibility in deployment on the selected area
  • Must be proactive and show initiatives
  • Professionalism
  • Team work

Managerial skills:

  • Good organization, planning and reporting skills are necessary.
  • Ability to manage staff & working environment according to local culture
