Summary:

The Data Base Officer is responsible for accurately entering, updating, and maintaining project data in databases and management systems. This role supports the monitoring and evaluation process by ensuring timely and error-free data management. The Data Base Officer works closely with program and M&E teams to provide reliable data for reporting and decision-making.

Job Description:

                           

    • Enter and update project data into designated databases and management systems.
    • Verify data accuracy and completeness before entry. 
    • Maintain and organize electronic and paper records. 
    • Assist in data cleaning and validation processes. 
    • Support M&E teams in preparing reports by providing reliable data. 
    • Respond to data queries from program staff and supervisors. 
    • Ensure data confidentiality and security. 
    • Assist in the development and improvement of data entry procedures and tools. 
    • Participate in trainings related to data management and software use. 
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Information Management, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in data management, monitoring & evaluation, or information management (preferably in NGOs/INGOs).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced), Access, and data management software.
  • Experience with digital data collection tools (e.g., Kobo Toolbox, ODK, CommCare).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
  • Fluency in *English* and local languages (Dari/Pashto).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  •  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and training/facilitation skills.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and humanitarian values.
