Job Descriptions:

The Project Manager – Greenhouses Project will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of greenhouse construction and production activities under the organization’s agricultural and livelihood development program. The role involves managing technical, operational, and financial aspects of greenhouse projects, ensuring high-quality results that contribute to food security, income generation, and women’s economic empowerment.

The Project Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, horticulturists, and social mobilizers to ensure that greenhouse initiatives are sustainable, climate-smart, and aligned with the project’s objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Management:

  • Lead the planning, design, and implementation of greenhouse activities in target communities.
  • Develop detailed work plans, budgets, and implementation schedules to ensure timely completion of all activities.
  • Supervise all phases of greenhouse construction, installation, and operational setup.
  • Ensure compliance with project objectives, donor requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Oversee logistical arrangements, procurement, and field-level coordination

Job Requirements:

Academic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Agriculture or Horticulture with Livelihood Project Management for rural and poor communities.

Professional experience:

  • A minimum of three years of project management experience in livelihoods, infrastructure, and other related development and agriculture interventions in Afghanistan.
  • Familiarity with the local socio-political context of the project focus on income generation activities in Afghanistan.
  • Prior experience in implementing projects funded by UNDP or other UN agencies.

Language:

  • Fluency in Pashto and Dari is required.
  • Working in oral and written English is required.
