Green Social Research Organization (GSRO) is a national, women-led non-governmental organization established in 2015 and registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan. GSRO works across Herat and other provinces with a focus on community-based protection, psychosocial support, livelihoods development, and resilience-building interventions.
GSRO has extensive experience implementing projects funded by UN Women, UNDP, USAID, and other international partners, and works in close coordination with local authorities and community structures to ensure context-appropriate, ethical, and effective programming.
This position is part of a UN Women–AHF funded project aimed at strengthening community wellbeing, protection outcomes, and household resilience in selected districts of Herat City.
The PSS Counsellor will be responsible for providing structured psychosocial support services to project participants in accordance with project guidelines, ethical standards, and GSRO policies. The role involves direct service delivery, coordination with referral pathways, documentation, and contribution to overall protection outcomes of the project.
The PSS Counsellor will work closely with the Project Manager, M&E Officer, Field Coordinator, and Protection Focal Point, and will ensure that services are delivered in a confidential, respectful, and culturally appropriate manner.
