Nutrition rehabilitation among admitted cases through treatment of clinical complications of severe acute malnutrition and prevention of further deterioration of the nutrition situation through provision of therapeutic feeds, routine and specialized medicines, health and nutrition counseling, capacity building and technical support to the TFU and pediatric Unit in the management of complications associated with severe acute malnutrition.
Ensure the provision of high quality medical and nutritional care in the TFU
Understanding and applying the TFU admission criteria
Carry out the daily rounds in the TFU.
Clinical examination of patients daily in order to determine any change in their clinical status
Carry out any appropriate and available investigations that may adjust diagnosis
Prescribe medications and therapeutic foods according to patients’ diagnosis, age and weight, and be aware of possible drug interactions.
Ensure timely consultation and/or referral for complex medical cases which require higher medical support,
Re-evaluate critical patients regularly during the day and night
Carry out the admission visit, prioritize the emergency, take a comprehensive history, and clinical examination, medical and nutritional prescription
Recording and Reporting activities
Write notes clearly and neatly on health card or admission chart
Document clearly the admission and discharge diagnosis for each patient according to national statistical definitions to enable good analysis by the TFU team
Write prescriptions clearly and neatly on health card or prescription chart
Properly fill TFU multi-chart and tally sheet at the end of each day
Ensure any investigations carried out are clearly marked on the health card or admission chart
Report any incident to the TFU In-charge where medical care is felt to be below the accepted national and international standards.
Participate in the weekly/ monthly data compilation and reporting of TFU activities

IPD SAM training
The Candidate must have at least one to two-years’ relevant work experience in BPHS related health facilities especially in TFU.
Fluency in spoken and written in Dari, and Pashtu is a requirement.
Having experience in TFU is a plus.
