About BARAN:

Bu Ali Rehabilitation and Aid Network (BARAN) is a nongovernmental, non-political and independent organization. BARAN has been established in 27.7.2006 registered with the Ministry of Economy (MoEc), Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), Ministry of Education (MoE) , Ministry of labour, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled (MoLSAMD).  In order to deliver standard health care, social and educational services including conducting researches. Special attention is given for the community development by promoting capacity building programs.

Job Descriptions:

The CHW Trainer based in provinces are in general in charge of all the CHWs works of the project in provincial and She/He will work directly under the supervision of CBHC Officer in PMO.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing the three phase CHWs initial and refresher courses action plan for required training considering the over-all work plan
  • Prepare the required course plan and lesson plans (adult teaching methods) and teaching material/learning aids.
  • Supportive supervision of HFs, HPs and outreach.
  • Supervision, monitoring and evaluation of Health Posts activities and skills to perform those activities during practical phase of the training.
  • Attempt to enhance the quality of job description, working procedures and training curriculum of CHW
  • Held meetings with community shuras, and other stakeholders for effective implementation of projects / programs and development map of catchment areas of health post
  • Communicate the culture sensitive issues in a culturally accepted manners with the community members and the trainees.
  • CHW/HP regular supervisor on monthly basis.
  • CHW/HP regular supplier
  • Conduct meetings with authorities, community leaders, elders and head of households to improve community participation and indirect evaluation of the CHWs and selection of CHWs
  • Assist in encouraging communities to nominate male and female members to be trained
  • Assess the nominees for the training according the national requirements
  • Train CHWs according to MOPH standard curriculum for initial and refresher courses.
  • Implement the planned training schedules for CHWs
  • Supervise the trained CHWs in the villages during and shortly after the training course
  • Maintain and improve knowledge of the trained CHWs
  • Distribute CHWs kits and explain kit items during the training period to CHWs.
  • Assist the CHS in analysis of CHWs activities’ reports
  • Develop achievement tests according to the training objectives established for a CHWs training course
  • Perform on job training for the CHWs
  • Ensure that the set norms and protocols are respected
  • Assist in CAAC survey implementation with CHWs and CHSs as required
  • Obtain clear picture of the essential technical needs of the health posts
  • Identify CHWs needs for refresher training
  • Identify particular needs of CHWs for logistics like drugs, medical material, equipment etc during the training course period
  • Perform any other required project-related tasks
  • Ensure CHW orientation, refresher and initial trainings
  • Ensure CHW are visited homes and school

Job Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of proven experience at field.
  • Similar degree;
  •  assignment with familiarity of working in similar local context.
  • Strong communications and leadership skills;
  • Fluent English, Pashto, and Dari with excellent speaking and writing skills;
  • Proficient computing skills including word processing, spreadsheet design and presentations

 

Other skills required:

  • Efficiency, result-oriented and excellent management capabilities;
  • Capacity to perform effectively under pressure and harsh conditions; ability to handle confidential and politically sensitive issues in a responsible and mature manner;
  • Excellent capacity development and teamwork skills; cross-cultural and gender sensitivity;
  • Ability to travel throughout the country;
  • Ability to use information technology effectively.
