About Afghanistan Social and Legal Organization (ASLO)

ASLO is registered with Ministry of Economy of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. The organization was informally established in 2012 and was officially registered with the ministry of economy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in 2013.  Registration number (2852) was awarded to ASLO through NGOs Department of Ministry of Economy Kabul Afghanistan.

Job Description

The Education Director will lead ASLO’s education programs, ensuring the successful design, implementation, supervision, and monitoring of education projects at the central office in Kabul and across provinces. This is a permanent, five-year position with responsibility for managing multiple projects (1–15 projects),   fundraising, proposal development, donor coordination, and overall sectoral strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all ASLO education programs and initiatives.
  • Develop strategic plans and education programs aligned with national priorities.
  • Design, plan, and implement education projects and ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Coordinate with the Ministry of Education, donors, Education clusters, and other education partners.
  • Supervise education program staff and build team capacity.
  • Monitor and evaluate program impact and ensure reporting to donors.
  • Lead proposal development and fundraising for national and international donors for this sector.
  • Manage existing projects and ensure timely and effective completion.
  • Launch and develop new education initiatives.
  • Travel to provinces to monitor programs and meet with stakeholders.
  • Ensure all reporting, documentation, and communication is conducted in English.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD in Education or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in education program management.
  • Proven experience in project design, planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to fundraise with national and international donors.
  • Experience coordinating with the Ministry of Education and education clusters.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously (1–15 projects).
  • Commitment to work with ASLO for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Ability to travel to provinces across Afghanistan.

Skills and Competencies

  • Advanced proficiency in English, Dari, and/or Pashto (written and spoken).
  • Strong leadership, project management, and coordination skills.
  • Excellent proposal writing and fundraising abilities.
  • Ability to supervise and build the capacity of staff.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Capacity to develop and implement new education programs.
