About NSRDO
NSRDO is a youth-led organization founded in 2006, dedicated to empowering marginalized women, children, and people with disabilities across Afghanistan. We focus on uplifting vulnerable communities by addressing critical issues such as poverty, education, WASH, healthcare, and sustainable development. Guided by the belief that everyone deserves a fair chance at a better future, we work tirelessly to provide resources, support, and hope to those in need.
We also work in food & security, agriculture, emergency relief, nutrition, peacebuilding, livelihood, community infrastructure, and the defense of human rights. NSRDO commenced its operations in 2005. Since then, NSRDO has been operating in Kabul and other provinces of Afghanistan and has regional offices in Nangarhar, Kandahar, Herat, Kunduz, Bamyan, and Paktia Provinces, along with its head office in Kabul.
NSRDO was registered in the Ministry of Planning by decision no. (951) dated 25/6/1383 and entitled to work in the capital, Kabul, and other provinces. This is also reregistered in the Ministry of Economy by decision no. (598) dated 8/6/06. Additionally, the US Embassy, the European Commission, the Canadian Fund, UNPP, UNGM, MoLSA, MoMD, MoE, and MoPH all have NSRDO registered.
For over 20 years, we have collaborated with donors, volunteers, and partner organizations to create meaningful, lasting change. Our mission is to deliver immediate relief while implementing sustainable solutions that enhance the quality of life for future generations.
NSRDO operates solely in Afghanistan, aiming to transform itself into one of Afghanistan’s foremost- developed NGOs. Although it continues to respond to the needs of rural communities in order to improve their living condition and utilize the resource in a well and transparent manner. NSRDO endeavors to reach the most disadvantaged groups in Afghan society often under very difficult circumstances. Among those with whom NSRDO works are poor families, women, farmers, unemployed and the uneducated population across the country.

Job Description
Job Summary
The School Feeding Project Manager will report directly to the NSRDO Program Head, Donor & other stakeholders and will oversee the effective implementation and management of the School Feeding Project. Below are the primary responsibilities associated with this role:
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure the project achieves its established goals and objectives within the defined timelines and scope.
- Lead the execution of project activities at district and provincial levels, ensuring collaboration with local stakeholders and partners.
- Oversee field-based monitoring and evaluation processes, engaging local communities to assess the environmental and socio-economic impacts of the project.
- Manage and guide the implementation of NSRDO activities in alignment with organizational policies, strategies, work plans, budgets, and relevant guidelines.
- Conduct regular field visits and technical evaluations to ensure the quality and effectiveness of education-focused initiatives. Prepare and follow up on action plans to address identified gaps or challenges.
- Promote principles of gender equality, human rights, and non-discriminatory practices across ethnic, political, and religious lines within the scope of the project.
- Embed child safeguarding principles and a ‘do no harm’ approach into all project activities, ensuring transparency in beneficiary targeting, service delivery, and active participation of stakeholders in planning and monitoring processes.
- Provide consistent feedback on potential conflicts and assist in resolving disputes in a timely and professional manner.
- Establish and maintain strong networks and partnerships with local stakeholders, including government entities and community representatives.
- Develop and implement detailed work plans to achieve project milestones effectively.
- Facilitate seamless coordination and communication between provincial teams and NSRDO management.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly progress reports based on NSRDO’s reporting templates and procedures, ensuring timely delivery to the Kabul office and other relevant departments.
- Collaborate closely with the M&E team to monitor project progress, ensuring alignment with objectives and outcomes.
- Utilize appropriate tools to track and evaluate project deliverables and performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant government departments, including the Provincial Education Department, District Education Department, and Economy Department, ensuring effective coordination at the provincial level.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of monthly and weekly project work plans.
- Prepare logistical, financial, and M&E plans on a monthly and quarterly basis to ensure smooth project operations.
- Foster strong collaboration between technical teams and program support units, ensuring alignment in project execution.
- Supervise daily project operations and monitor progress to ensure timely and efficient implementation.
- Ensure that field staff are fulfilling their responsibilities and that the School Feeding Program is functioning effectively at the provincial level.
- Uphold NSRDO’s child protection and safeguarding policies, ensuring awareness campaigns, response mechanisms, and incident reporting procedures are implemented effectively.
- Manage technical and operational teams, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to organizational standards.
- Conduct onboarding and training sessions for new employees to familiarize them with project objectives and processes.
- Perform regular staff performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills and efficiency.
- Identify capacity-building needs among staff and provide on-the-job training to strengthen their ability to deliver project interventions.
- Collaborate with the NSRDO Finance Department to conduct budget reviews and prepare monthly financial reports, addressing any issues promptly.
- Supervise the preparation and submission of monthly cash requests to ensure smooth project operations.
- Ensure timely payments to contractors and creditors, maintaining accountability and transparency in financial transactions.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Program Head or other relevant supervisors.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, Economics, Education, Social Science, Agriculture, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management roles with national or international NGOs.
- Proficiency in Pashto and Dari (reading, writing, and speaking) and fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Willingness to travel frequently to various provinces and districts, with the position based in Kandahar.
- Demonstrated efficiency, results-oriented mindset, and exceptional management skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and conflict resolution abilities.
