Afghan Family Guidance Association (AFGA) is an Afghan non-governmental, not-for-profit and non-political organization established in 1968. Alongside the Ministry of Public Health, AFGA has been working in the field of Reproductive Health since its inception. AFGA is a fully accredited member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and an important partner of UNFPA.
A committed team of more than 600 experts are working in 11 provinces of Afghanistan to achieve AFGA goals and objectives. AFGA provides health services to the most vulnerable and hard to reach communities through over 140 service delivery points.
Job Description
We are seeking a Finance Clerk to support tax documentation and daily financial operations within the organization. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing and processing tax-related documents, and supporting the finance team with assigned tasks to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Following are the major responsibilities of the Finance Clerk:
Specific Responsibilities:
- Prepare all the documents & forms related to tax in accordance with the Afghanistan taxation law/ process.
- Processing the monthly tax of the organization with the relevant government entities such as MTO, Ministry of Finance and Afghanistan Revenue Department (ARD).
- Responsible to organize, files & forms and other documents related to tax in a proper method.
- Make sure all the activities related to tax are completed on time.
- Assist in organizing the financial documents such as vouchers, bills and payment records in accordance with the AFGA finance department procedure.
- Assist the finance team with daily accounting and routine tasks.
- Perform any other task related to finance department assigned by the line manager.
Job Requirements
- Basic knowledge of accounting and Afghanistan tax laws and regulations.
- Experience in voucher preparation and document handling is an advantage.
- Strong quick learning capacity and act accordingly.
- Ability to build and keep relationship with the relevant government entities.
- Basic computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
