OCED also responds to the needs of the Afghans by the principles and fundamentals of civil society organizations. OCED works in partnership with humanitarian agencies, UN organizations, development and implementing partners in the following six areas: Health, Nutrition, Education, Agriculture and Livestock, Emergency Response and Social service.

- Examine, diagnose, and treat patients with internal medicine conditions.
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans for hospitalized and outpatient cases.
- Manage patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, liver diseases, and infectious diseases.
- Provide consultations and second opinions for complicated medical cases.
- Perform clinical rounds and monitor patient progress.
- Ensure rational prescription and proper use of medications.
- Initiate referrals for patients requiring advanced diagnostic or specialist services.
- Provide emergency medical management for critically ill patients.
- Participate in emergency response and stabilization of patients.
- Support casualty management during outbreaks, emergencies, and disasters.
- Ensure compliance with national clinical guidelines and treatment protocols.
- Participate in medical audits, mortality reviews, and quality improvement activities.
- Monitor adherence to infection prevention and control (IPC) standards.
- Promote patient safety and quality healthcare services.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records.
- Ensure timely preparation of clinical reports and statistics.
- Support HMIS reporting requirements related to internal medicine services.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Promote safe patient care and occupational safety standards.
- Report communicable diseases according to national guidelines.
- Any other related task assigned by his/her supervisor.
Job Requirements
- MD degree from a recognized university.
- Specialization in Internal Medicine from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an Internal Medical Specialist.
- Experience in public hospitals, EPHS/BPHS projects, or NGO-supported health facilities is preferred.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Fluency in Dari, Pashto and English.
Note: - There is three months of probationary period for all staff, in case the employee fails to fulfill the requirements or completion of given tasks during this period OCED can end his/her contract immediately.
