Job Description

The Skills for Livelihood Opportunities (SLO) focal point and Marketing Focal Point is responsible for overall management of training centers, administrative and marketing activities to ensure successful completion of SLO Project. The SLO and Marketing Focal point will generally ensure that all aspects of the activity are being implemented and satisfactorily in a timely manner so as to complete the project within the timeframe set out in the project work plan and Field Level Agreement (FLA). connect and link the all-vocational skills training trainees to the markets in district and provincial levels, conduct market analysis and assessment for completed products of trainees and connect and link them to the market accordingly the SLO and marketing focal points are responsible for accompanying the whole WFP's missions and providing them with a reliable report on the awesome progress of the vocational skills training activities. As well as the SLO and marketing focal point is also responsible for in linking of SLO trainees so that all involved trainees are linked to the market after graduation. Meanwhile, the SLO and marketing focal point is responsible for managing of all tasks related to the center in an excellent manner and ensuring that all center trainers and trainees attend in their classes on time and in case of any deficiencies and negligence in the center, she must to inform the project manager in a timely manner to address and resolve the existing problem.

Job Requirements

  • SLO and Marketing Focal Points is working under the direct supervision of project Manager.
  • Manage professionally daily operations of Vocational Skills Training and Marketing programs.
  • Ensure the proper planning, implementation and completion of all Vocational Skills Training activities as outlined in the project proposal, FLA, and project logical framework.
  • Work closely with project marketing officer and other project-based support staff to ensure that project activities are progressing in line with project scope and objectives.
  • Ensure that Project Training Centers have the requisite materials and tools in a timely manner to ensure that SLO trainers can satisfactorily control and use according to project work plan.
  • Work indirectly with finance and logistics department to ensure that procurement of all required materials, supplies, and tools is completed in compliance with SFL rule and regulations.
  • Meet regularly with SLO trainers to ensure that project activities are completed as per the project work plan.
  • Provide assistance to government technical staff where required in receiving instruction and oversight for implementation purposes, as required.
  • Prepare all attendance sheet and other paper work for all trainers and monitor them up every day.
  • Linking trained women to the market on provincial level.
  • Research and collect human interest stories that may further demonstrate project impact and success.
  • Assist Project Manager in making project outcome and indicators for WFP's Vocational Training project proposals.
  • Represented SLO in communicating with governmental authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Draft weekly, monthly, quarterly and final reports and submit to project manager on a timely manner.
  • Preparing the raw materials item requests of each activity based on needs.
  • Participating in all project online meeting (if required).
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and Program Deputy Country Director on issues affecting projects including progress occurred.
  • Perform any other tasks if required by project manager.

Qualification/ Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 Years of relevant experience with International NGOs or UN Agencies
  • Computer skills at the operator level, especially with MS Office packages.
  • Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto; English language proficiency is required.
  • Ability or experience of data verification and analysis.
  • Having strong report writing skills.
  • Familiarity with various types of data collection methods and data management.
  • Good communication skill and able to pass the massage/questions in local languages to the respondents.
  • Having good interpersonal skills and ability to plan work.
  • Supervisory, team working, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Regional and cultural knowledge of areas of SFL field operations in Afghanistan
  • Willingness to work long hours when required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to the project sites and outside of duty station within Afghanistan and adjust to the SFL environment as frequently as required
  • Honest, proactive, well mannered, and must share values of SFL.

  • Ready to work, live and travel in an intricate and strenuous environment
  • Preference will be given to those candidates who are local residents and are familiar with the project implementation area and communities and who have sufficient experience in RFS project implementation.
