Bakhter Development Network (BDN) was established and registered in 2001 with the Ministry of Economics in Afghanistan as an Afghan, non-political, non-profit, and non-governmental organization. BDN operates in line with its constitution in three sectors: education, health, and agriculture and livestock. With its current focus on public health and nutrition services, BDN's mission is to assist communities in the achievement of their own development goals, while its vision is a world of enabled communities working toward a brighter future.

Currently, BDN is involved in implementing different health projects across multiple provinces of Afghanistan, such as BPHS-EPHS projects in Balkh and vertical projects like CBNI, TSFP, PHNS, FSAC, GC7, S-WIFS, and RMNCAH/SRH and PSS services in provinces such as Balkh, Badakhshan, Baghlan, Faryab, Sar-e-Pol, Jawzjan, Samangan, Takhar, Kapisa, Ghazni, Kunduz, Paktia, Paktika, Khost, Kabul, Parwan, Panjshir, and Maidan Wardak.

BDN, in more than 20 years of its operation, has made impressive contributions in promoting access to quality healthcare and has developed a reputable track record in the effective implementation of numerous projects within the country. To mobilize communities and raise awareness about health and psychosocial support services, ensuring active participation of community members, strengthening referral pathways, and building trustful relationships with local leaders, elders, and women's groups in line with BDN/MoPH standards.

Social Mobilizer is responsible for:

• Develop a field visit plan and implement it properly
• Visit the community and give awareness about the activities of the Health Center.
• Coordinate and build relationships with communities, especially religious leaders, community elders, and women, about health services that are provided from the health facility free of cost for clients.
• Mobilize communities to utilize health, nutrition, immunization, and psychosocial services.
• Strengthen the referral system among the community and health facilities 
• During fieldwork, supports the identification of severely ill patients, mental health and psychosocial sufferers, and referral to health facilities and psychosocial counsellor. 
• Conducts individual or group Mental health and psychosocial counselling awareness and health education as required in the Health Center.
• Helps the Health Center in charge to prepare schedules based on ground reality to ensure the successful implementation of a plan.
• Supports team members in developing and implementing community-related activities
• Performs any other official tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.

• Relevant education in social sciences, public health, and community development
• Previous experience in community mobilization, health education, or similar activities is preferred.
• Good knowledge of the local community and languages.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with community members and health facility staff.
