About Help The Afghan Children:

Help the Afghan Children (HTAC), is a non-profit, non-governmental organization was established in 1993 in response to the horrible conditions of Afghan families she witnessed during Afghanistan’s civil war.  HTAC is registered with Afghanistan’s Ministry of Economics as a national non-governmental organization.  HTAC is also member of ACBAR coordination body in Afghanistan.

Job Descriptions:

Position Summary:

Under the direction of Provincial Senior Manager and Child Protection Sr. Manager will be responsible for quality implementation of Holistic Community-based Child Protection project, and make the delivery of Child Rights and Child Protection a reality in his/her respective province. This position is also responsible to technically support project Child Protection Officer, receive technical support and coordinate with Save the Children and liaison project interventions with government related departments

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop work plans and monitor progress and present monthly progress report to supervisor. Ensure effective implementation, progress and capturing lessons learnt, and good practices.
  • Continue to develop understanding on children’s meaningful participation throughout the program, and develop/implement ideas to enable children to identify and address the issues of concern to them and promote their voices in locally, regionally and nationally.
  • Undertake capacity building needs and gaps mapping for project officers and Social Workers through development of capacity building plan and ensure the quality implementation.
  • Mobilize capacity building opportunities and resources to ensure Technical knowledge management and provision of high quality technical assistance in the area of child protection to the Social Workers.
  • Review program documents, formats, reports and detailed implementation plans to ensure that child protection issues and child rights approaches are integrated.
  • Represent his/her organization in networks, cluster and all working groups on related to child protection.
  • Work with appropriate government department within the child protection sector to ensure that children’s rights are considered in the process of legislation formation and institution building.
  • Report any child abuse concerns related to organization staff to his/her supervisor and opinions related to the implementation of the child safeguarding policy.
  • Adhere to the organization code of conduct in professional and personal life and report breaches of the code to the appropriate persons. 

Job Requirements:

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Ability to support Child Protection Officers for the quality implementation of the project, developing plan, able to support the team based on their needs and experience in the reporting, planning and coordinating.
Superior knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especial MS. Excel. 

Essential:

Fluently speak English, Pashtu and Dari Ability to develop project tools, formats, reports Able to travel to all parts of the program impact areas and meet with stakeholders  

Desirable:

This post holder is responsible to report child safeguarding cases to HTAC Safeguarding Focal Point and consider the confidential.
