Relief Humanitarian and Development Organization (RHDO) is a nongovernmental, non- religious, non-political, non-profit and non-military organization, working for development of Afghanistan through implementation of health, community development and capacity development/research projects was established in February 2014 and is registered with the Ministry of Economics under registration No 3121.  is also registered in Ministry of Public health under registration # 504.  is registered in Ministry of Women affairs under registration # 751 aims to contribute to the development of Afghanistan through provision of developmental and humanitarian services in public health, training and capacity building of Afghans in healthcare disciplines and skills starts to realize its vision through implementable, context-specific, technically sound and practically achievable approaches. These approaches are: (1) to design and implement the community development programs; (2) to provide primary and secondary health services according to the standards of the MOPH; and (3) to build capacities and skills of ordinary Afghanistan residences and professional of health sector.

Job Descriptions:

Job Summary:

The Field Monitoring Officer will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of project activities in the field. This role involves regular monitoring and evaluation of project progress, ensuring compliance with project objectives, identifying potential risks, and providing timely feedback to the project team. The officer will work closely with the project team, stakeholders, and beneficiaries to ensure that the project is meeting its goals and objectives on time and within scope.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and Evaluation:
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities and ensure they are implemented according to the project plan and donor requirements.
  • Gather and document data on project progress, including activity outputs, outcomes, and impacts.
  • Ensure that project activities align with the set targets, objectives, and timelines.
  • Monitor the effectiveness and sustainability of project activities.
  • Identify gaps and areas of improvement in project implementation.
  • Reporting:
  • Prepare and submit timely field reports that detail project progress, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations.
  • Provide updates to the M&E Manager or Project Manager regarding the progress of field activities.
  • Assist in developing case studies, success stories, and lessons learned for reporting purposes.
  • Data Collection and Analysis:
  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data from the field using surveys, interviews, focus group discussions, and observations.

 

 

  • Maintain an accurate record of field data and ensure proper data management and storage.
  • Assist in analyzing data and generating insights to inform project adjustments and decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, community leaders, beneficiaries, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure the participation and involvement of all stakeholders in the project activities.
  • Address beneficiary and community concerns or grievances related to the project.
  • Risk Management and Compliance:
  • Identify risks and challenges in the field and report them to the project team for immediate action.
  • Ensure all project activities adhere to RHDO policies, donor requirements, and local laws.
  • Promote compliance with safety and security protocols during field visits.
  • Capacity Building:
  • Provide guidance and training to field staff, community members, and local partners on monitoring and reporting systems.
  • Assist in organizing capacity-building sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of project teams.
  • Logistics and Coordination:
  • Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure the timely delivery of materials and supplies to the field.
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating field activities such as workshops, trainings, and community meetings.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Development Studies, Social Sciences, Monitoring & Evaluation, or related field).
  • Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in field monitoring, evaluation, or project management in humanitarian or development projects.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of monitoring and evaluation frameworks and tools, experience working with NGOs or development agencies.

Skills:

  • Strong report writing and data analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data collection tools.
  • Ability to work independently and travel to remote project sites.
  • Fluency in local languages and a good command of English (both written and spoken)
